Sure you can but your games will only be playable by those who bought the Linux kit too. In fact, Sony arranged things so you can't burn a cd and distribute your games to your friends, relative, etc. Its a nice toy for hobbyst(sp?) who want to play with the PS2 hardware (hell I might get one myself) it might teach you a thing or two, but it is not the equivalent nor an alternative to the real developpement kit. Read the faq because too much people think like you and bitch and whine to Sony because of that.

LOL , what's up with that? So Americans, Canadians, British, Frenchs, Africans, Mexicans and all of the other world populations are equal or dumber? Can you please explain me why a particular population concentrated in a particular place on the planet have sooooo many higher IQ's ? Proove it to me please and I'll shut my big mouth. First thing first, intelligence is not easily measurable (thats why I don't really believe these IQ test) You ever heard of some autistic geniuses? They can't tie their shoes but can caltulate x to the Nth power in a second.. So are they intelligent??

I also believe that there is an equal rate of slightly higher IQ's (if you want to call it that)equally spread all over the planet , that is regardless of race. Intelligence is about cultural background. The cro-magnon man was as intelligent as us, their society were just not as structured. So I think you should think again saying such dumb thing like that.

I have my degree + 2 yrs of experience, I must have send 60 resumes either by snail mail, e-mail and fax, sometimes both... made tons of phonecalls, but still.. I got 2 interviews, one said they needed someone with 5+ yrs experience (why they called me in the first place then?) The second never called me back and I just found out they hired another anyways. Wtf am I suppose to do now? Get back to school? I tell you , these are very bad times for anyone involved in the CS field right now. Me and 3 of my CS buddies got laid of last december and we were all working at different companies. Maybe I should move somewhere else.. Quebec city IS NOT the place to go for employement.

  13. Its Fuzzy Logic on This is IT? · · Score: 0

The little sensors "voting", this is for normal people. For CS people this is called Fuzzy Logic. I'd bet my arm that it use a fuzzy logic controller chip to compare and analyze the gyros position/data so it can feed the little electric motors with the appropriate action to take in *real time*. This is the key to IT , if its not being able to process all of the gyros info in RT then it worth nothing, luckily thats what fuzzy logic can do the best.

These kind of systems have been in use for more than a decade in Japan for controlling the speed of the subway as well as their elevators. Its so effective that they do not have handles or pole on wich to hang on when they take the subway, also, it is being said when you take the elevator you don't even have the slight indication that you are moving.. the fuzzy controllers adjust the speed so well that it eliminate the acceleration/deceleration effect thus eliminating the need of handle and the feeling of moving.

More ram and/or a better graphic card might work for a while on *some* systems , but I don't think having more than 256 meg of ram in a >1ghz gaming (windows?) box might help you as much as say 64 -> 128 in a 400 mhz box. I have a k6-2 450 mhz and a 3dfx voodoo3 and I can tell in advance that if I put a geforce 3 in there, It won't improve the games performance by much. In my case the processor is the bottleneck. That's why i'll keep my v3 when I'll upgrade my mobo-cpu combo. So I can see how fast it was meant to be.

My advice : wait until it is the videocard that creates the bottleneck effect (prevents you from reaching top-speed on your gaming machine).
