your hypothesis is a bit off, based on the flawed assumption that those who are playing EQ were actually competition to your chances of breeding and surviving.
I dont know where that info came from, CIBC is my bank of choice and one of the reasons i trust them so much is in the 4 years i've been with them, i've never had so much as a glitch. And one of the reasons i trust their security is when i signed up for an acount i got a glimpse of the screen the teller was using and i asked to look at it, and sure enough they all run linux across the board.
now, i havent verified what os their atm's use, but i would find it very odd that a bank would have linux as their os for the human tellers and then put windows for the atm? but if slammer did take down any cibc atm's, i would assume it would be because of the insanely large amount of congestion on the network from all the infected windows systems.
hey, im all about efficiency, theres nothing like having a game up on my main screen and the walk through up on the 2nd display:D
on a serious note, i cant stand single display anymore, when im coding its invaluable to have a 2nd display with my reference material, or when i work in various sound production apps, and desktop real estate is an important factor. hell if my pci bus wasn't maxed i'd be hooking up a 3rd display for sure. one key factor i found after several configurations is the best setup is if both displays are running at the same resolution, and my only complaint would be how some fullscreen windows want to go and minimize when i access the other display (remote desktop, etc)
a few months ago while trying to re-partition my 200gig drive, partition magic came up with some random error and then refused to even read the partition table, simply stating the entire drive had become one large partition of unknown type, as well as windows would not read anything on the hard drive.
several partitioning repair software choices later, i decided to see what my knoppix boot cd would give me for options, and low and behold the partition options actually gave me a list of all the seperate partitions on that drive, alowing me to see what was causing the problem (something like another smaller partition that was created that made the whole drive messed up), simply using knoppix to delete it and reboot, saved me a few gigs of data.
Since then Knoppix has replaced ERD for when i need to recover a pc, even on windows boxes.
good point, and i would so love to challenge that specific part in court and have a real court ruling clearly stating that someone can be bound to an agreement they never agreed to or saw or perhaps even heard of, because as a software developer myself i can make tons of cash on that ruling with just a little bit of creativity.
furthermore if i can click an "i aggree" button and bind other people who arent even present to the agreement, i promise you i will rule the planet in a matter of months:D
i dont believe i've ever seen anything about letting anyone use the computer its installed on, and plus she can claim ignorance about the fact that im using her computer without her permission..
but better than that, i noticed another post here about having a 12 year old install your software, and thus all contracts are not binding as a minor cannot enter into a legal contract.. sounds like the best work around i know of yet...
maybe bnetd should hire a minor to be the project developer
thats a little far fetched, but it begs the question that if you werent the person to install and agree to the eula, are you bound by it? i could EASILY have my wife install all my software and agree to the eulas, while i use the software and be able to claim i never saw or agreed to any eula and thus am not bound to it.
this makes me think of alot of questions.. if i were to rewrite bnetd and "change the words" to the point of perhaps making fun of blizzard, but having the server function exactly the same but all the words inside it be altered, could it legally be immune under the same way a parody is?
i mean no where have i seen legal rulings stipulating that a parody must be funny, or even the humor involved needing to apeal to all parties involved. as long a "i" think what i did was funny, it counts right?
seriously, someone should try this... if i could code in anything but VB i would definately do it. i dare one of you to do this, maybe its the loophole we're looking for.
i always assumed gaim was just another aim client, never realized it did msn and icq as well... this story convinced me to try it out, and yeah its pretty cool... just needs one little added option... options > preferences > text size > readable.. aside from that i like it.
wow, and i guess since you take care of your car, you wont need insurance for it, right? and since you take care of your house, you wont need insurance, cause accidents never happen to people who are careful.
well i try to be careful with my stuff, but sometimes things happen. i own legal copies of my software, but i use a copied version because all it took was one friend with one bratty kid to come over for a visit, and half my cd's were scratched to hell. my starcraft cd isn't even recognizable as a cd when i pop it in my machine. so whenever i buy a new game, the first thing i do is rip it with clonecd or alcohol, and then put the cd away somewhere, and just use the image off my hd. and i will continue to do this untill software companies start shipping brand new copies for free to me whenever i need to call them and report my cd is scratched.
actually i do wonder what he's gonna say, as he did predict way back when xp wasn't even released yet that the raw sockets ability in xp was a bad idea, and no one really listened to what he had to say. now years later, MS realized it, dissables it, and breaks a bunch of legit programs that depended on it. had the functionality never been there in the first place, this part of sp 2 wouldn't even be an issue.
so yea, i think i'll go on over to grc.com and wait for him to post an "i told you so" on his front page.

oh no here i go trolling again
if you've played it help me out, where do i find the towel in the first quest?

And on October 22nd, Slashdot forums used openly discriminatory language against the female gender. Obviously no Women were around to notice or care.

thanks so much, thats just what i needed, now i can abandon all my useless IM clients and just use Gaim... very nice.
i always assumed gaim was just another aim client, never realized it did msn and icq as well... this story convinced me to try it out, and yeah its pretty cool... just needs one little added option... options > preferences > text size > readable.. aside from that i like it.
show me doom 3 running on my windows pc.

:)
its more like breaking their legs so that they don't accidently/unknowingly go out and infect someone else
