    That is true IFF you take science==evolution.

    Unfortunately no other theories on species origins can every be considered scientific by that definition.

    For proper objective science that actually looks at evidence without prejudice, ID is significantly more scientific than evolution.

    I too have experienced this, often accompanied by a profound sense of "this is where I am supposed to be".

    My wife, who experiences the same, has a theory that when one experiences Deja Vu, one is in the right place doing the right thing according to a plan for one's life.

    Of course to agree with that theory one must have some belief in fate.

    Here's two cases where the nv driver cannot be used:

    1. You want to use more than one monitor. This is much more common these days.
    2. You want any kind of 3D acceleration. More applications are requiring this now - Google Earth, Celestia, Nexuiz, upcoming 3D desktops to name a few.

    If computer science isn't about computers, what is it about? I haate that students coming out of universities, when asked about registers and how would they write a multiply routine if they only had shifts and adds, ask "why do I need to know this?"

    Haven't you been keeping up? The second law has already been broken if you consider the 3.1 dimensional (spatial+time) space as the only source of matter and evergy.

    This would suggest that as a result of hitting a couple of plates together there is now a tiny bit more energy in the physical universe than there was 50 years ago.

    Uhhh - with ssh2 keys and no password all a hacker needs to do is gain access to your workstation and they've got your keys and can get into the servers. Do you really want debian.org to rely on the security of every single dev box out there?

    A better solution: Use both.
    Keys and passwords.

    With current mozilla/firefox builds if you SSH into a remote machine with X11 forwarding and invoke Firefox, a new LOCAL session starts up. Utterly useless for testing clients web browsers.

    How are you going to read in the dark then? :)

    My Zaurus lets you read in pitch dark, or broad daylight thanks to a reflective LCD display. The light isn't actually a backlight but is positioned off to one side and hits the LCD along one axis of the plane. Unlike many other LCD displays this one actually looks better in brightly-lit environments.

    Perhaps I would have been better off saying "no light" in these new books.
