Does it make sense to say that the Earth - Moon pair are going to become a double planet then, but are something else now?
Yes.
The Moon is currently a moon of the earth because the Earth-Moon barycenter is inside the sphere defining the surface of the earth, ie it's small and close.
If the Moon continues moving away from us it will eventually cease to be a moon and be a part of a double-planet (Earth and Moon), and will eventually become a single planet in its own right as it orbits the sun independently.
Uh, the video content in Google's AVI wrapper is DIVX mpeg-4 with mp3 audio. Granted they should have called it "PC/Mac" or just "Computer", but they're using a standard format at least for the video.
A pity they went with mp3 for the sound, but who knows, perhaps they bought a licence from Fraunhofer/Thompson.
Yes you could, although with divergence of lasers and the immense distance this is extremely difficult.
Besides, the tinfoil-hat theory claims that the mirrors were installed by robots. And rock samples were collected by robots on the moon while the astronauts stayed in earth orbit below the Van Allen belt.
Only marginally on-topic I know, but speaking of Van Allen:
Information on physiological effects on humans passing through the Van Allen belt seems to be distinctly lacking.
Given that at least 29 people are reported to have passed through it during the Apollo programme, I would have thought there would have been extensive tests done both 'live' during flight and upon arrival back on earth. Does anyone know if such studies were done?
It probably won't shut up any of the moon landing naysayers but would be interesting nonetheless.
There is no educating people like you because you will never admit that humanity is ever capable of doing extraordinary things.
Or maybe they just believe that, you know, the US was unable to get a person to the moon in the 1960s and 1970s. Nothing to do with aliens, pyramids, evolution or creationism, just that they couldn't and didn't do it.
As for myself I don't believe that, having seen sufficient evidence to convince me 99.9% that humans did in fact go to the moon in 1969 but that doesn't make it 100% absolute fact and it sure as blazes doesn't make anyone who disagrees with me an idiot.
Otherwise I'd be no better than the tinfoil hatters who partake in conversations with their fingers in their ears.
What do you think Israel stands to gain by attacking arabs (bearing in mind they're outnumbered on every side)?
Why is Israel firing missiles into civilian locations in Lebanon? What else could be there?
Where are the "return" rockets being fired from?
Why do you think it is that Hezbollah exists? Where does it come from? What is its mission statement?
Which small country was missing from a huge map of the Middle East displayed at a UN (yes, UN) meeting with Palestine? Why do you think this is?
What is one of Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's favourite topics?
Why is footage and photos we saw of civilian casualties in Afghanistan in 2002 now appearing in news stories about heavy civilian casualties in Lebanon?
Why is Pallywood producing bulk footage of injured people on stretchers for sale to news networks? (especially when the injured people get up and walk off in the uncut footage)
However answering the following question will answer most of the above:
I downloaded this game and was amazed at the polished quality of it. That and it was an immense amount of fun.
I do find it rather discouraging, though, that a demo hacked up at a conference can be better than 90% of other linux games, most of which have been in development for months or years.
Perhaps we need to start sponsoring more promising coders to go to these kind of events.
One bit of FUD being spread around is the whole "They'll be able to prove it was you when they seize your computer" crap. I haven't seen it hit/. but I've certainly seen it around the place. This isn't a criminal matter. The police aren't going to be getting search warrants and raiding your place for MP3 sharing. If the RIAA turn up at your place and try to take your laptop, call the police and have them arrested for Unauthorised Entry and Attempted Theft. The best the RIAA can do is subpoena your stuff...
So what about the more likely case, that they turn up with a police officer and a search warrant?
And how much does that cost? Probably the same that a XBOX360, a GC, a PS2 and a decent PC(but unsuitable for gaming) put together
Probably yes, but what has that got to do with anythihng?
It would still run simulations much better than any console.
If you're seriously into simulations but can't afford the dosh, not a problem go get a PS3 and still play a decent approximation. But if you can afford it, a PC with a killer video card rig is a no-brainer. If you can't afford a PS3 (after the prices come down of course) then you're probably out of luck. The Wii just doesn't have the power.
I'd like to think some kind of safety mechanism would be employed - a buzzer that screams loudly when the tank reaches 1/4 capacity, and a valve that gradually throttles the fuel lines when the tank is 1/8 capacity, forcing the rider to land gracefully.

Well since Google Video is the only one that lets you download videos without logging in I think I'll stick with them for now, thanks.
Does anyone know if Yahoo or Youtube lets you download even once you've logged in?
Yes but how many employers back in '01 said they weren't going to purchase XP? And now, they are all borg.
Unless he shot you in the toe.
That's funny, I could have sworn that Islamic terrorism started long before the brits discovered the Americas.

It's also important to remember that terrorism at the hands of Islam has been going on since long before the United States was, welll, United.
If you want to know the roots of terrorism, go read the last parts of the Quaran as dictated by Mohammed.

No clue since as already argued there is no country of Palestine, so there can not have been such a meeting.
*sigh*

What are the core tenets of Islam?
Unfortunately it's not quite so simple.
The situation can be summarised as follows:
If the Arabs put down their weapons there would be peace.
If the Israelis put down their weapons there would be genocide.
Yes, but for the love of all things don't go near one with a BMG label, for obvious reasons.

Isn't that a bit like putting on a tux to go out dumpster diving?
(no pun intended)
No he didn't.
He only withdrew funding from clinics that advocated or performed abortions, but did nothing against more humane forms of birth control.
It is valid C code that compiles.
:)
It also bears a resemblance to the opening sequence in a certain '60s TV series entitled "The Prisoner":
2: "You are number 6."
6: "I am not a number, I am a free man!"
You see so it's really quite funny - ah, forget it
I'd like to think some kind of safety mechanism would be employed - a buzzer that screams loudly when the tank reaches 1/4 capacity, and a valve that gradually throttles the fuel lines when the tank is 1/8 capacity, forcing the rider to land gracefully.
Welcome to Oceania.
Hey keep your government's corruption our continent! We've already got plenty to go around, thanks.
Trogre of New Zealand.
Yes it is.
:)
It's almost as if 51% of the population actually voted for him
What you meant to say, perhaps is:
because it isn't.
yet.
What will you do then?
That is why sequels suck and will always suck.
Well I have four main objections to that point:
1. The
2. Empire
3. Strikes
4. Back
