I generally buy music that I like. Lately though, those two good tracks on a $12 CD aren't worth it. When artist start producing quality CDs I will start buying them again.
What I meant was the people that do steal music, if they like the artist, pay them back for the services that the consumer recieved. If you don't steal music than you don't need to compensate artists any other way than just buying the album.
My family, friends, and I set up a network of FTP servers. Right now we have about 7 servers that I use regularly. A few are pop a couple indy and a few are rock. I can find anything I want within a couple of minutes. Anything I can't I ask the nodes and they will look in their network of FTP servers (friends of theirs that I don't know) usually this doesn't take long and the bandwidth is better than kazaa lite. I encourage each of you to teach friends and family how to set up FTP servers and sample your music that way. Remember to support your favorite artists and go to their concerts and buy their merch. They actually see the money from this.
You can put cool little metalic flip switches in to control system fans and light and stuff like that. It would make the space both cool looking and practical.
I switched my laptop in the last few months and there isn't anything on my PC that I would need to emulate. I have everything I need on my mac - I have every X11 app and every Mac app... plus the great OS X developer tools.
When I switch to OS X desktop... I am going to miss some games - but I guess I can live without those. I might actually start to become productive.:)
First of all the water that runs over the processor is in a tube so it wont be able to evaporate until it has moved further along the system. Secondly, I have a 1 gallon humidifier. You know - one of those systems whos sole purpose is to humidify a room... well, it goes through a gallon of water in about 8 hours and it has visible steam coming out of the top and an active heating unit. The water that would be evaporating off of this system would be passive evaporation from the water flowing down the rocks.
I'm not talking a baby pool. I am talking one of those little ones that you can buy at Younkers for $30.
Mainly not for looks - mostly for soothing white noise.
Don't call me a troll if you don't know what you are talking about.
You could set up a rock garden waterfall that doubles as a water cooling solution. The water falling over the rocks can be used as a radiator for your PC. The water falling over the rocks will create a soothing sound and look very nice while at the same time cooling the water and getting rid of that horrible PC hum.
Since this thread is going nowhere...

I have an offtopic question.
I have a "study abroad" option for Norway (southern-most tip). Has anybody been there? Did you like it? What are the colleges like out there?
Any help would be appreciated. Mods - please refrain from sending this to hell until AFTER I get a few replies - thanks.
Rich Taylor, a spokesman for the Motion Picture Assn. of America, said "the essence of the legislation makes all the sense in the world." However, some MPAA members were concerned about the new liabilities, and some doubted the need for the bill, he said.
To summarize:
"We want to be able to attack random networks who we THINK are using copyrighted works - but if we are wrong we shouldn't have to face the consequences."
A couple more things - all those tall athletic people that picked on you and made you feel like crap every day of school? Well, now they are all college dropouts that are more over weight than you will ever be.
And that hot girl that always turned you down? You are marrying her in June. Congrats stud!
You are going to get Karma raped. I just happened to insult the viewers of this stuff and I was shot down to -1 in about 5 mins. I hope you don't like having an opinion or karma - cause both get shot to shit on slashdot.
I don't think it is smart to add complexity to a damn near hardwired system. If there is one of the "cool" bugs found in the bios replacement how would you ever be able to fix it? This sounds somewhat dangerous to me.
The only reason trolls like you mention the "one-button" thing - is because you can't find anything else wrong with them.
Also, some die-hard *nix geeks get pissed because they can't stand the fact that Apple - in only a few years has taken a *nix variant and gone further with it than the entire Open Source community could in 10 years.
If cows "moo" and ducks "quack" what do monkeys do? Why don't we have a word for their sound? If we do what is it? It has been driving me nuts all night.
Try telling your boss that AppleWorks is just as good as MS Office. Watch him laugh when you tell him that TextEdit is just as good.
I feel the same way that you do. But people are too stuck on Office to go with anything else. When Apple can come out with an Office Suite who's filters are 100% accurate then there wont be a problem. Until then - MS Office is a huge part of what is helping Apple stay alive.
Look at Linux - why isn't it used on the desktop as much as even Apple? Because when I have to turn in an Assignment I don't know if the OpenOffice filter is going to work or not - so I boot up my Win2000 box and use Office there.
I have heard a lot of great things about Apple here. I have an iBook and love it. My problem is - with all of this new attention how long do you think it is going to be before MS kills off Office for Mac (essentially killing Apple)?
Actually they are working on a port for Office on Linux. I have a friend who was interviewed for a developer position for it.
'Tell me about your day?'
It is alright so far, thought it is only 8:00AM central right now. Thanks for asking though, how is your day?
Well, duh! You get your PHD.
You are farked just like the rest of us. Go to grad school until the economy improves.

Are they releasing doom for linux? Sorry for the offtopic post.
Later,
John

I am still waiting for Ximian Gnome to come out. waiting and waiting and waiting
You are wrong. VERY wrong.

Please look here.

I would watch that.

Nail as many women as possible because you don't get the young pootang for long.
