You have mentioned wiki in your posting. Wiki definetly works, especially inside a controlled environment like a team/company. There has to be a strong management support and each individual within the company has to realize that it's there for their own good. But many tend to hide the knowledge to keep their jobs safe. The only way is to tie the wiki update to their performance review cycle. Based on my experience, mediawiki is good for static documentation. twiki is a nice collaboration environment, but you will need IT guys with perl knowledge to effectively maintain and explore new features.

Yeah agreed. But most of the time the situation is not ideal. Every project as usual is way out of its deadline and rushed and hence these documents are comfortably forgotten. You ask development to write the release document about the production environment which they dont understand/know very well and that create problems. What should happen is a session involving both parties going through a high level implementation plan followed by series of meetings before the release. Communication is the key. (I am from IT)

The same for me. I ended up rebooting, which started the installation. After the installing, some .NET Service Pack 1.1, IE7 was installed followed by another reboot. I thought it was over, but there was a security update for .NET service pack itself, which demanded one more reboot. Ha, finally finished, but this last update keeps popping up every now and then and I have installed it numerous times. Finally opened by vnc client and connected to my ubuntu linux PC and feel safely home.

They will either be eliminated or massacred if Kashmir becomes independent or joins Pakistan. Believe me that will be the case.
