"A 100 Mbps last-mile connection isn't worth didly-squat if..."
All depends on the type of neighborhood. In, for example, my hometown I'd be willing to bet I'd have most of that bandwidth all to myself. Probably less so where I am currently (apartment complex in a "planned" neighborhood full of young people)
You know, I thought that when I replied to the OP too, but in, say, a class action suit brought against a company in which I own stock, I get a letter saying I need to opt in (essentially) to be a part of the settlement, if any. If I'm automatically part of the class why is that bit of communication necessary?
Given the Cnet link in the summary, I'd say if you haven't heard from Google then maybe they haven't gotten around to you yet.
As for your other points, I'd be interested in hearing a legally informed analysis too. My guess is that it's due to being a class action suit and how the "class" is defined, but I'm really not very well versed in all that.
I suspect people unconsciously assume to some extent that someone who "talks plain" can't possibly be bullshitting them, where "talks plain" corresponds with "sounds like the people from my home area"
"What is needed is "one-time addresses", or addresses that cease to exist after n messages arrive, where n is some low number suitable for you verification email to be mailed and maybe a couple more. Then it goes dark, and the mail server disavows any knowledge of you."
WOW has a very colorful world going for it, but I found the plot quite weak, because in whatever situations you were put in (mostly instanced dungeons) that there is some thread connecting your actions, everything rings hollow because, after all, it IS an MMO, so nothing you do has any effect on the plot at large.
"ONCE THE REQUIREMENTS ARE LOCKED DOWN you do not accept changes to them"
You forgot: Until Sales pitches a fit and leans on your regional manager, who will lean on you to "work it out" with your team, because this is a very important customer who you can't afford to offend in any way.
If demand really and truly peaks they typically can't handle it. Take a look at the consumer-sparked shortages all across the Southeast in recent times due to "Omg hurricane gonna blow away all our refineries" hysteria.
The gain is: Your (the advertiser's) network of ad serving doesn't become commonly associated with spam and worthless content because you stop doing business with sites that cause these kinds of issues.
You're certainly free to declare what you like about your own work, but your stance on the copying has no bearing on the formal definition of plagiarism.
+1 informative, thanks. I wonder if I have been misunderstanding and the folks I'd heard were talking about something else (like maybe not letting your heel "touchdown" after the ball strikes the ground)
"I find my knees hurt more when I heel strike"
God I know mine do, which is part of why I've always avoided running as cardio.
I dare say the 56 year old CEO has a better idea of how to communicate responsibly (in the context of a corporation about one's employer) than the 26 year olds.
danke schon, quite informative.

I think it's time we update Godwin's law to reflect the new millennium.

AFAIK families sign a release for usage of those photos, same as when any other identifiable photograph is released on a large scale.
Except you can't put a restraining order on Anonymous.
Chickenshit?
Oh, you mean "Not willing to go to court with Apple and possibly lose his business in damages."

My SG account has eaten on the order of 10 thousand spams over its lifetime (a decade or so)
You only pay more about half the time in my experience.
Definitions of short shrift on the Web:
* a brief and unsympathetic rejection; "they made short shrift of my request"

things that can only be used in relatively close range.
100 yards? That's plenty close enough to be under fire from the pirates. Hope you have brave, or foolhardy sailors.
Pining, perhaps?

Slips like that happen more often than I would have ever expected.

The medium of communication is irrelevant.
