Am I the only one to whom the image of that thing gives flashbacks to some of the enemy vehicles from the Captain Power series/toys?

You may as well take "standards" off that list---"your friends" probably don't care, and if they do, they're probably already running a non-IE browser.
I work in a small independant bookstore. You wouldnt think those would get alot of "bad" customers, but they do--people who think we can magically order out of stock books just for them, let them take a book home and return it in two days---in a bag thats obviously been taken out of the garbage, with bent spine and obviously read already.
Typically we just let these customers get disgruntled and leave. if they attempt to monopolize our time we basically brush them off. Same thing at my internet job---there was a sizable percentage of the customer base who expected to be the center of the universe when they broke something, and that just isn't possible . I did my best to fix whatever it was, but if it got to the point i couldnt take other tech tickets they got left hanging, and if they cancelled the account, my boss said that was just how it was.
I can understand best buy's situation. I know for a fact people attempt to abuse returns by "renting" equipment as well as attempting to return the wrong item inside original packaging. Nor should they be expected to price match a shady website's price on blank CDs though that ought to be part of the price matching policy. Not only is it unprofitable but also unfair to other customers to allow a single picky whiny bastard to monopolize an associate's time arguing about something either.
On behalf of all the computer enthusiasts who like taking a peek at old hardware, i have to wonder how many customers you drove away who just wanted to have a poke through a box of stuff that looked old as they were
Just out of curiousity what methodology do you use to record via MD? Reason i ask is that i've heard some positively horrid concert recordings done on MD and can't imagine a large part of my collection sounding like that
Wow, someone else who knows their way around FirstChoice. Dad used it at work because thats what our computer tech (Before i became "our computer tech") reccomended. I've gone to agonizing lengths to get that program to fire up in win98 and WinXP Compatibility mode because my parents (who are self employed and use it for records) didn't want to learn Word.
Because people do things like drive cars, operate air conditioners and use other appliances, most of which either create greenhouse gases directly or contribute to that in the form of power consumption
I can believe this. I use google image search alot to find pictures of various species of snakes and tarantulas, and VERY often a picture will be indexed which will give me a 404 error when i try to view the full sized one or the webpage it supposedly comes from.
I tend to disagree. Most of those people looked the way they do because they don't give a shit about their looks or taking care of themselves. That it takes a team of professionals to spit them out looking half decent is pathetic.
a 12 inch spread of buckshot does not qualify as an "area effect" weapon. Napalm is an area affect weapon. Claymores are an area effect weapon. A shotgun is not.
So basically what you're saying is, regardless of the wishes of the producer, if the consumer of content wants the content free, he's entitled to it?
Bull. Shit.
The producer sets the terms. If you don't feel like paying for it, guess what, nothing, not one thing gives you the right to help yourself to it anyway
I'm not, on the fact that these days i can download FAR more than i have time to watch (anime or other media -wise) and the only thing i really make sure to get is a couple anime series that i really enjoy
Well, (going my my limited experience doing engineering research papers)
Plenty of things ARE available on the internet (market research, specs, federal regs, etc) and it's faster sometimes to scour search engines at LEAST to get references to the books you need, rather than excavating in a corner in your university library.
Though I see what you mean about looking up things that occured before the internet. Hehe

Is that an actual bug in Firefox or does it have to do with slashdot's horrible code? I've read it spun both ways

Why is it the fault of the store that the customers can't keep up with paperwork?
Do you think the highway patrol would cut you any slack if you said "I kindof lost my registration. one year is a long time..."
Grow some organizational skills. I still have the extended warranty paperwork for speakers i got at BB two years ago

Google images is NOT updated frequently.

How does it avoid moving hugely off course due to currents and wave action if all it does is rise and fall in a controlld manner?

Dungeon keeper 2 had some great moments in it if you watch carefully.
Havent seen anyone mention this so far but Postal and Postal 2 had some dark humor and smirk inducing one-liners (Kinda like duke nukem 3d but better)

This time last year? BT was going conastnatly.
Could you not have simply called your CC provider or bank and told them AOL's charges were unauthorized and not to be honored?
Hear that whoosh? that was my joke passing above your head ;)
Dissapointed
But are you surprised?
Not to mention the fact that no military commander wants half trained unwilling unmotivated draftees in his or her unit.
Skyla-who?
If you're in a position to stick to gimp over photoshop you didnt need photoshop anyway.

Sure.

You've got 8 Con 4 Int and 5 Dex, sure you want something sharp to fall on?
I think the point is to restrict one restricts both.
