now in europe, this is exactly what they are going to do: shut down zombies, shut down spam relays, and everyone on slashdot babbles incoherently about teh ev1l gubmint invading our computers.
You've got the eighth comment! And judging by the length of your comment you probably didn't even see half of the previous ones before you posted.
if you instead spastically flail out everytime someone words an article in a propagandistic manner
I had to call out one particular mod on his discussion page and on the Jonathan Ive page, because he considered my changing of the iMac's introduction from 1997 to 1998 "vandalism" (a change I had to make FIVE times), and it was FINALLY changed.
Where does it say that the changing of information was on the Johnathan Ive article? It says that the "mod" was called out on his discussion page and on the Jonathan Ive page. The call out was apparently there, not the original changing of dates. Unless I'm reading it horribly wrong, that's what the sentence says.
Have you even played in a PVP realm? In normal circumstances, your level 2 warrior cannot even be attacked by the opposing faction, let alone 'ganked'. The only way this could conceivably happen is if you went out of your way looking for it.
What blows me away about the game is that you have realistic alternatives for combat and they're all fun.
So far, I've played: - horse archer on fast horse with two stacks of arrows who rides around shooting people in the face. - super fast guy on foot who specializes in axes both thrown and wielded. - traditional knight on warhorse with a lance, sword, shield, and a couple javelins. - asshole commander who sits on the hill and yells at his troops. (okay, not quite as fun)
Lately I've got a lancer/archer hybrid. On non-mountainous terrain, she kicks all sorts of ass. I'm trying to create an all woman crew (it's way harder to recruit peasant women in this version).
It's such a great sandbox rpg game. There are so many ways to play, without even getting into the mods available. Also, this is a great time to start playing since the game is in its final beta stages.
In the new version, the start is fairly difficult. I'd recommend spending the first few levels participating in the melees in the city arenas and training in the training grounds.
With all the great indie games out these days, I don't know why I occasionally buy retail. I always come back to Mount & Blade and Dwarf Fortress.
I wonder when this race to the bottom will result in a cheap laptop with a text only display. God. I'd love this for IM/IRC/email.
I was playing with the idea of connecting one of those old monochrome monitors to my machine for this purpose. I figure that's probably one of those ideas better left unimplemented.
This wasn't a normal father. He was a criminal. I agree this guy was a complete selfish asshole, but you're treading on dangerous ground here. There aren't two different types of people: "criminals" and "non-criminals". Someone being a criminal doesn't make them morally corrupt and somehow more able to commit murder/suicide.
With the ways the laws are lately, we're pretty much all criminals. That doesn't make us any more or less likely to do something insane like this.
What this guy did was a not uncommon response to his type of situation. There are psychological factors at work that we should work to understand instead of dismissing this as just the actions of a criminal and sweeping them under the rug. That doesn't help anyone.
It's similar to our reaction to the Columbine shootings. When someone does something that far off from our own moral compass we label them as the Other. They were "monsters" and that's how they did what they did. Well no, sorry, they were human beings. Identifying them as monsters doesn't do anything constructive to prevent similar tragedies in future.

You know the part where the sleezeball lawyer wants to reveal Batman's identity, and the Joker threatens to blow up a hospital if nobody kills him? Why didn't they just kill the lawyer?
Yeah. You go ahead and trust that maniac. The rest of us will be over here in Rational-Land where we don't give someone whatever they want when they say they're going to blow up a hospital.
Yeah, I've set it up to between.5 and 5 seconds of buffer and nothing seems to work consistently. Maybe something else is going on. I'll try another player maybe, check my processes.
Copying the file straight out takes way less than the play time, so I can't think of what the problem would be.

Oh hi.
Fortunately, WWII ended way before the 1972 Olympics.
Right. Next you'll say that Elvis is dead.
Sheeple.
OMG 4.13% of the Web is Standards-compliant!?
Now they have more to charge someone with!
The facebook is a common college thing, from what I've seen on American TV/film.
I'm finding snippets of conversations I've had, but which are no longer hosted anywhere.
What was I talking about? Who was I talking to?
I guess it's only the stuff you're extremely embarrassed about which will stay around forever.
"Wowlapalooza claims to understand jokes", debunked here: http://yro.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=976031&cid=25158853
Where exactly is all this money coming from?
The future!
Read the sentence again.

Why? Is it GPL'd?
ZING!
Can a civil war end in any other way?
Truce?
Amen to that. Instead of trying to compete with WoW in yet another fantasy setting, why not compete in a sci-fi setting?
Because investors respond more favourably to what is currently successful?
I'd rather see a 40k MMO as well, though.

Didn't they try this with Jay Leno for Windows 95?
Ah yes, here we go.
I guess it was more at launch, then after launch.
"Hay guys, I hear Windows 95 is fast enough to handle all of OJ's alibis at once!"
And you call this woman a girl? That's much better.

I have burned so much time in Mount & Blade.

Why the hell are you allowing websites to move/resize your browser?
Try Firefox + NoScript.

Maybe there's an emulator around somewhere.
This guy was scum. Just got a little bothered by the "That's something a criminal would do" tone of the post I replied to, that's all.
I was probably reading a little too much into his response and I see someone beat me to the sentiment, so not much else to say, really.
Shame about his family.
This wasn't a normal father. He was a criminal.

He lied several times in the movie. See it again.

6) New agent hard nosed
Hard nosed? Quite the opposite, in fact.
I didn't really care for the character though. Seemed to lack substance.
