Why?
Cause SOE flat out refuses to listen to their customers. I've been and SOE customer now for over 2 years and they operate the way they want.. Period, end of story..
Customer: game would be great if you painted sky purple..
SOE's Response: Ban customer and paints the sky green

I'm not renewing my account. The game is great, but after 6 months, it's rather dull.. The game is great from level 1-59, but one you get to 60, I think Blizzard droped the ball a bit. This isn't to rant and rave about how stupid they are, etc.... but I personally don't have the time to invest in organizing and running raids. So for me the game pretty much ended at level 60. I got an alt up to 36, then decided to go back to SWG for a while till more content comes out that doesn't require 40 people groups.:|

I tried out Jump To Light Speed, and you know what, it's no longer a MMORPG, it's a SORPG now.. SMALL online role playing game... the cities are empty. heck, space was empty at that..
Since I can't get banned by the Devs on slashdot, lemme be the first to say you developers at SOE suck beyond belief! It's sad to see a game with such potential RUIN'D by your crappy Management and lack of programmer skills! YOU SUCK!

I remember the small package that Sierra use to make for the Kings Quest, etc series.. You had to use that "magic" marker to view the clues in order to finish the game.. Those rock'd! Too bad Sierra doesn't still rock.

Spoken like a true east/west coast person. GET A CLUE! I live in KC and have spent my whole life in the Midwest. You are not going to find nicer people if you forced them with a gun! Oklahoma is by far the most pleasent place on earth to be. Yes it's flat at placees, doesn't have fancy this and that, but it has honest people who are good people..
You really have to look at what the programmers have to put up with. Management expecting solutions yesterday, people asking stupid questions. etc.. When you are rushed there is not quality, period. just as your "non-technical" position of Q&A. If you are rushed in your job, then you allow major flaws to pass through into implementation./we programmers give deadlines because somebody expects and answer when reality is there is no answer.
Manager: how long will it take to code this?
Programmer : 1 week (what they are really saying is "Shut up, end this meeting, let's get to work)
As for Prima Donnay syndrome.. We are doing something YOU can't that's why you are in Q&A so your family is impress'd your in the IT Field. Fact is your as stooopid as the manager that i work for that needs help turning their PC on in the morning.
The biggest problem with mainframer's is they are dumb as dirt! They have no motiviation to learn what is outside their little boxes. We have an AS/400 right now with 10 AS/400 programmers. Only about 1 of them has any knowledge outside of yahoo.com when it comes to modern technology. It's down right embarrasing, in fact I can't even claim these people as "developers" cause they are not! Why we have a 400 is even a question I have. We spend hours in meetings trying to figure out how to meet the end user expectations which is a GUI interface. So do you keep programming for the 400? Or retrain? If you retrain, what is the point of having an OVERPRICED mainframe to store 1's and 0's? And yes, it's a mainframe, if you walk like a duck, quake like a duck, have stupid non-computer professionals write RPT then it's a stinking mainframe.

Ok, I won't argue with you there! LOL I've just never had major problems with AIM as I do with say Yahoo or even MSN.. ICQ.. can't stand that product so I won't even comment on that! Lol
I do take issue on one thing you said. I believe the AIM client to be the most reliable of the chat clients out there.. MSN Messenger is flakey along with Yahoo, which IMO is the worst of the clients. I've never had problems with AIM degrading system performance on my machine. I also use AIM on a Win2000 box. I used the Linux version once and it was kinda of lacking.

Is go out to kazaa and to Morpheous and download all the music we want, then write a check and mail it directly to the artist themselves! This RIAA and DCMA stuff is getting so out of line it's not funny! How can a industry get away with isolating millions and millions of their customers??? I say go out and buy everything from 2nd hand music stores!
Isn't it our legal rights to use a CD as we want? I can make copies for my use, I should be allowed to play this music on any CD player I have? So how about a class action lawsuit for depriving us of our rights??

Most Good Developers don't need a sysadmin around. I have found in my experience most SysAdmins are not smarter than the end users.
