    Opera was last of the 3 to come to the browser market, it's just amazing they're ahead of mozilla here. Besides, Internet Explorer is totally the wrong browser for a mobile phone, it's just too buggy, and to targeted toward dumb multimedia stuff instead of good page rendering. Besides, mobile phones and embeded stuff is usually more standard compliant, and IE has never been close.

    Isn't changing the appearance of a copywrited material illegal? I know people talk about this when removing banner ads from pages, noting that removing the code for the banner isn't really right, but you can take out the actual image.. Here it's still modification to the user, so how's it any different?

    No man.. OpenOffice is a network application, so it could be a security risk, but KOffice is a single user application, and not at all dangerous. And unlike Win32, there's nothing wrong with XWindows that is consistant. It's so old, and written well enough, theres very few bugs. Remember, us "mindless Linux zealots" are the ones who really care about stuff, you don't. Everyone has their "Reason" why linux wont go mainstream, but they're usually fake, like this one. You're just not ready to learn another platform, so you curse it instead. get a life.

    The XBOX really isn't a good platform for a cheap server. The only thing in it any good is the Video card (Geforce 4 alike) and it's not useful for a server. I can put together a server that will blow away the xbox for $250, and hey, then you have a upgrade path. These people aren't going to use them for servers, get real.

    My homepage isn't flashy, and I dont want it flashy, so stop picking on it. It does look better than your average frontpage website, and you don't have to look at any metas to figure out a page was made by frontpage.

    Actually I didn't do it with VI, but I might as well have. Anyway, what do you need for Linux to meet all your needs? I'd be interested to know. While you're at it, give me your homepage url so I can make fun of it too.

    Mozilla is available in several licenses. NPL, MPL, and LGPL. The MPL is pretty nice, NPL pretty restrictive, and LGPL, well you know. :-) Personally I think they just totally forgot about other licenses.

    In this case, the Practical reasons for using open source are really just about all of the philosophical anyway. Sure, it's not right to give a large sum of extra money to a company who is just going to stab you in the back, but Microsoft can't do a lot more then take your money. And if you're going to mention their backdoors, if you're really concerned about security, you wouldn't think about using Microsoft anyway.

    This really isn't neccesary when you can get programs such as keygrabber for windows, and if somebody's sneaking around on linux, they're either easy to track, or they're too good.

    No, it really isn't extreme. When you're talking about a market this big (And Netcraft does have a very large sample.) Plus this means apache now has 12% more than ISS than before. The market actually hasn't waved much, and last year was abnormal, generally Apache gets bigger and ISS gets smaller.

    Apple doesn't let you buy a computer without macos, so what's the point here? unless you actually bought a old mac without osx. It seems pretty unrelevant to me.     Dude, it's not about that. Remember when Unreal came out for the Dreamcast? In fact, they still have info on that at their site. It's not really like a XBOX is ready for Doom III either, and the PS2 (NOT PS/2 idiots...) does have enough power to run a downsized version. Xbox games are pretty junky, and people might keep a PS2 around for longer than Xbox.

    You buy a dell, gateway, or a emachine and it's more than likely you'll have to reinstall everything because they did it wrong in the first place, not to mention swapping out that Nvidia tnt for a video card. Sometimes we forget how hard it really is to work with "easy" stuff.

    Again, you can have your own rail system, if you want to pay for it, fine. And by the way, why do you have to test something out in the big cities? it would make a bit more sense to try out a system in a smaller city, where the risk isn't as big, and neither are the taxes.

    Face it, it's likely most citizens will never get any use out of this.

    The problem is, the whole state will be paying taxes for just 3 metropolis cities. Why should people in all over the state pay for transportation in Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami?

    Besides, if they need funding from the whole state, it can't be an efficient way of travel.

    Remember guys, this is Florida, where everyone complains about ballots.
