wouldn't this mean that any poorly designed parts of the win api (think gdi) would have an impact on osx? now we could have a single worm rip through windows, wine on linux, AND osx.
the cost of being caught on a cell while driving without a hands-free device in my state IS the cost of a hands-free device. you have on the order of 30 days to show the state a receipt for a hands-free device and they will drop the charge. of course, this only works the first time you're caught...
here i am, trying to install debian. i have downloaded and burned the first dvd three times. each time i try, the download is corrupt (the download claims to be successful and the dvd burn is successful, but there is always at least 1 critical file that can't 'download' from the dvd properly...) and i have to try again. why does debian need a full dvd to install? in fact, the full install is 2 dvds (8.4GB). i tried the bittorrent dl as recommended, but i get no more than 8kbps down. not too good considering i have a 15Mbps+ pipe... if it would fit on 2-3 cds, then i don't think this would be as much of an issue. looks like i'll be installing my old redhat installation (6.2 i think?), because i have that in hand already (2 cds) and can't see payimg $10 + s&h for a copy burned somewhere else whn i easily have the bandwidth to get it for free.
ps: i know folk are going to recommend a net install, but my onboard ethernet is not supported without a third party driver, i don't have any room in the syustem for an additional card, and the folks who support the driver no longer supply/support the driver.
poor thing - $1200 for a 1 bedroom appt. look into manhattan, brooklyn, queens. parking costs $1200 per month.
1) i agree: fewer workers = more demand for labor. it also means a smaller workforce, which leads to lower production. lower production means higher costs. you make more, but pay more (inflation anyone?). that, of course, leads to higher interest rates. which leads to... need i continue? in addition, i find your remark extremely sexist. blame it on the women. after all, they're supposed to be b&p. asshole.
2) problem: americans have high credit card debt. solution: lower their income so that one spouse can stay at home watching tv all day. please explain?
3) nice point. you should continue to pay property tax for your local public schools, but should educate the kids yourself. teachers have a higher degree in teaching. you? are you qualified to teach? what would you teach? are you going to teach your b&p beliefs as 'social studies'? hey, if you feel you're qualified to teach and that you can do it better than licensed teachers, perhaps you should approach your local school board and give them a few pointers. good luck with that.
4) uh-oh. i guess you aren't qualified to teach. you can't even read! where did i mention single-parent situations? perhaps it was this one: "do you have a suggestion as to how one parent can stay-at-home when 2 full-time incomes are needed..."? 1 stay at home + 1 working = 2. had i said "do you have a suggestion as to how an only parent can stay-at-home when 2 full-time incomes are needed", then your point would be valid.
But how are they going to do that when both parents work because neither of them wants to give up their job for selfish reasons like self-fullfillment
let me guess... trust fund brat? must be nice living in a part of the world where a studio appartment doesn't consume an entire salary. however, you shouldn't assume that everyone else has it as easy as you. where i am (ny), it is difficult for many families to get by on 2 incomes - even if they have no children. once you throw the additional expense of kids in, things become even tighter. perhaps you should try living paycheck to paycheck on 2 incomes for a little while and see if your opinion changes. do you have a suggestion as to how one parent can stay-at-home when 2 full-time incomes are needed for housing/transport/food, costs keep increasing, and wage stays the same? on top of that, folks are supposed to somehow manage to save enough for retirement...
what's so sick about a bank website? apparently, they need me to update my personal info. i don't remember giving my driver's id last time, but they're asking for it now. how strange...
not all of us file using the e-z form. when you're paying tax on 8 different types of income including capital gains and filing 15-20 pages of attachments, tell me how 'quick and easy' it is. that being said, i tend to file without anyone else's help.
i think they do just fine scaring people away from e-filing on their own... e-filing costs ~$30 (part irs, part h&r/intuit) while paper filing costs ~30 seconds or print time, ink, and a stamp.
come on, if you're going to give a quote, at least do it accurately.

i was recently looking at the AOpen i915GMm-HFS Micro ATX Intel Motherboard which sports onboard high-def audio and hdtv encoder, dual gigabit ethernet, usb, firewire, sata, sata2, etc. i was thinking of buying one of these, throwing some ddr2 memory, a semi-big sata2 disk and a pci tv tuner. i've read a few reviews of this type of setup for this mobo, but do any/.rs have any experience running linux/mythtv on one of these boards? i would love to turn this into my tv-ripping, low-use home file server. i have priced out this system for under $1600, so i think it would be a worthwile investment. any thoughts?
I'm kind of leary of constantly read/writing/erasing an entire flash drive over and over again...
just remember - every time you listen to a song, it increments the counter of how many times that song has played so it can be transfered back to itunes, so the database subdirectory of your ipod (or is it a file?) gets the most wear & tear. if you get a stuck bit somewhere in there, who knows what impact it could have on the rest of the device.
depending on where you live, they do bring fiber to the home. i love my 15 down, 2 up service with 5 static ips. now i'm waiting for them to make fios tv available in my area so i can get rid of craplevision

Each person has their own preference, but you shouldn't feel the need to justify it by spouting nonsense.
how is itunes "far superior"? 3rd party software that tries to take over your system so it can "help categorize your library" for you and uses non-standard tagging schemes is not "far superior" to my pre-existing directory tree with standard tagging. additionally, the ability to browse to your device and delete/drag&drop seems much simpler to me than opening a memory/screen hogging interface. i don't know what software you think creative makes you use, but it sounds to me like you're just "spouting nonsense"
as for battery, my shuffle needed recharging ~2 times per week and the battery clearly was not charging to full potential after about 6 months. since i changed songs only one time since i got it, your concept of charging while swapping didn't help me. changing out a AAA battery once a week is just as easy.
reminds me of high school where my parents spent hours trying to convince me that if i played d&d boardgames with my friends that i would automatically end up killing actual people with a sword in a 'more realistic' version of the game (or be killed myself).
Well, if you ever move to rural America for any reason...
IS there any reason to move to rural america?
Serious question, though, as the idea of public transportation is foreign to me: how do you do your grocery shopping? What if you want to buy something large from a store, like a bookshelf or something? Do you just carry everything everywhere? How does that work?
serious question - have you ever heard of 'delivery'? besides, if there's a grocery store every few blocks, how hard is it to walk there a few times a week? this is why rural america is fat - no walking, all driving.
wouldn't this mean that any poorly designed parts of the win api (think gdi) would have an impact on osx? now we could have a single worm rip through windows, wine on linux, AND osx.
but who makes your monitor? i would hope it's not sony or philips...
1) olivia munn
2) kristin holt
3) star trek: tng
4) e3

You get all of your services (TV, phone, internet, etc.) over one line. Heh. Like that'll ever happen.
it happened... or was that sarcasm?

innovation => faster/smaller/better chips
which leads to small robots.
4 are ff and 3 are dragon quest. perhaps the question was worded as 'what is your favorite square/enix/square-enix game of all time'
FF27? i thought it was called FFXXVII. and if you think that's technically superior, wait until you see FFXXVIII
but mine says:
NASA Names New Spacecraft - Microsoft Internet Explorer
does this mean it is intended to crash and burn?

allow the server to directly write to your screen...
sounds like on-demand tv to me...
