Apple integration of qt into OS = good

    Huh?

Mac users, don't shed a tear. WMP, IMO is bad for a number of reasons when you look at the competition. I gave WMP 10 an honest try on my work computer to keep a list of whatever MP3s I had on my system at the time. For some strange reason I get duplicates of the same song, in consecutive order. No way to easily clear that out either.

The GUI is a big mess in either version 9 or 10. They try to put too much on the screen at one time. Compare that to the nice and tiny Winamp.

I hate the seek-ahead/rewind. You don't see it in realtime like quicktime has.

In version 9 they introduced a slight delay of controls when you went to fullscreen mode. No longer is it instantaneous like it was in previous versions.

It's very wimpy when you try to play just-downloaded files, etc. If you as much as look as a .wmv file before trying to run it in WMP, it gives you some lame-ass excuse not to play.

I change the privacy settings like the error message said to, so i can see album info for tracks, and it still won't do it.

There's a freakin update every weeek it seems for it, yet it doesn't get any better.

Screw it, I'll use ITunes for MP3 management and winamp for quick play(ie play an mp3 without messing with the library)

If that is so, there better be a Star Wars light sabre game. You know, in addition to the 99E99 star wars games already out there. Wired magazine made a joke of a Katamari Damacy rip-off called "Adhedsive Death Star", which I assume you roll up a smaller Death Star around and pick up various Star Wars objects.

I can just see it now. First you pick up malocholrans(whatever those creaturs are for the force), jedi training balls, Darth maul's probe, "off" light sabers, then work your way up to droids, small vehicles(tie fighters), big vehicles(AT-ATs), then eventually star destroyers and entire planets.

You then would have a score of "light side/dark side". Pick up more imperial objects, and you're a jedi. Pick up rebel stuff, you're in cohorts with Darth Vader.

I better stop now before someone at Lucasarts reads this post and actually makes it in conjunction with Namco.

To me that game was highly underrated. I love puzzle games, and chances are there's a puzzle game concept that's a template that will be used by several companies. I just wish they, when a clone was made, added some spice to it. Imagine alternate versions of Tetris pieces. Imagine a sliding row or two(manually or automatically on a power-up) to make things more fun.

I dunno, this is quite possbily the most quiet home entertainment format launch I have ever lived to see. But alas I will probably be not using this format in the near future since I don't have an HTDV. It's not worth the extra grand or 2 for a better resolution movie.

I was lucky enough to be given a TiVO(forgot the series), hacked to 80 gigs, and Ethernet, etc. While it is nice to be able to pause live tv, the only thing I didn't like was the latency with pressing buttons on the cable box.

You try to punch in 040 and you get 0 4 2 seconds later showing up on the TV. I would say 60% of my channel changes were unsuccesful due to the cable box's timeouts. I thought the batteries were bad in my remote control. So I bypassed the tivo entirely, and it switched channels just fine, nice & fast.

Is there a way to turn off "pausable tv" and just push the video straight through? I can live without it. I just wish when I did a plain(ie not scheduled) recording it didn't stop after a half hour. BTW I have no tiVo service. Just using it as a VCR.

And if we don't put harsh penalties to 'accessories to crime', we'll have spammers thriving non-stop in the USA since it would all be outsourced, ie the spam problem would never stop. It was slower paced, and focused more on missions than just plain 'ol races. Nowhere could I get 5x combos anymore for it was too slow.

Mind you, the Carmageddon 'races' weren't much for races. You had more fun just driving around, doing crazy stunts, running over peds, dodging cops, and playing chicken with the other racers. But it was fun. It was mindless fun. I can't think of a game like that today that just lets you drive around at your own leisure, aside from Grand Theft Auto.

Now if you want to see a sequel that should not have existed, try Blood Storm. It was a Mortal Kombat ripoff that was a sequel to Time Killers. It is quite possibly the most godawful gory fighting game ever made since Tatoo Assassins. It's so fun to play since it's so bad.
