When I first got digital cable, all I watched was G4, but then quickly migrated to VH1 Classic.
Why? Some of the shows, like that one with the host and his digital avatar buddy(some show about MMORPHGs), are just plain unwatchable. Judgement day is okay, but a little too MTV-like. There just isn't enough programming on the channel though to keep me interested. You can only watch the same Pringles commercial(are they their only sponsor?) over and over and over again.
Does anyone remember from several years ago the show with videogame championships for some "blockade runner" like game? It was some dedicated arcade game where you race ships down the tunnel against other ships. The people competing on that were THE biggest, most stereotypical nerds. I believe it was on Sci Fi. Completely unwatchable.
I do love the Starcade reruns though. More of that, please.
Isn't that laughable? As if the switching of the Cyg-win userbase would cripple X. Why is it that GNU sees the need to fork *everything*? Is their problem with X that they don't release under the GPL? And who are these myriad other developers that have been turned off by the X group?
I once accidentally put a space after the ZIP code in on Mapquest, and it ended up taking me to a completely different destination. I dont' see why accidentally hitting a space in the ZIP would throw it off course badly.
Biggest pet peeve is the simple "Yes"/"no" interface seen for a dialog in most games.
Many developers insist using just 2 different neutral colors for Yes/no, and no real indication of which color means "yes, I choose this one!" compared to "no, I don't choose this one". The result? It's a toss up.
One nice way of doing it is to darken the option you didn't choose. Don't use red and green(maybe modeled after traffic semaphores) as toggle colors.
My biggest pet peeve at the office is having almost no room between the table and wall to get a power plug through. I'm sometimes bashing the plug(or the ferrite core) behind the table so I can get it to the outlet or Ethernet port.
All cubicle tables should have a notch cut out for this purpose.
What I would like to see in a search engine is a engine that not only knows the picture, but also knows what's in the EXIF tags as well. There's also that XML-based creator field standard thing.
Could make for some intresting surgical searches. Want to see what output a specific model of digital camera it makes? Put in the model's name in the right field for EXIF, and see what people have come up with.
Hey I still have an old Amiga 500. Are they planning on selling the Ethernet adaptor for that? I wouldn't mind having one of those for dumb terminal usage.
What still strikes me as an anachronism(sp?) is anything in Beetle Bailey made after World War 2(Beetle Bailey holding a cell phone?) or any of the rugrats in Family Circus owning any appliance made after 1963.
And who the heck can keep track of Steve Roper and Mike Nomad? It's like reading one page out of a novel, in the middle, once a week. Same goes for Prince Valiant.
How about this, we share no more than 600 or so songs each, and rotate our sharing every week? or would the RIAA just lower their threshold for who is a "major" pirate?
I love GTA3 and Vice City. Two games that set the bar excessively high for PS2 games in overall attributes.
But I bought The Getaway, and it just was badly done. They jacked up the difficulty (IMO) too high at the beginning. I haven't even passed mission 2. Found out on a newsgroup that you had to hold down three buttons simultaneously to shoot someone w/ autotargeting.
Also, driving around is a hassle. Not the problem of the rush-hour in London, but there's no map, and sometimes your turn signals make you go down the wrong way on a one-way street.
No freedom to do anything either, until you've completed the game. A shame, really.
Look on the bright side of using a wireless Ethernet card on PCMICA. When the semi-annual new 802.11x standard comes out, you just buy a new card, instead of replacing a laptop with WiFI built in.:)
Right now, numerous stargazers are pulling out their dusty telescopes for some clean astronomy. Something not possible unless you drove out into the boonies where the light interference and pollution is minimal.
Think of them all pulling their fist and going "YES! Mars here we come!".

A one-time code? How long will it take for someone to come up with a crack for that, so they could get free tunes up the wazoo?
Wait, they could just use KazaaLite or Soulseek and forget having to crack it. Nevermind.
I really guess "She canna take it anymore!"

Helloo open source nerd linux buzzword bingo!
. It runs MS PocketPC 2003. Personally I think it blows the SE P900 away. Ok, time to wipe the drool off the keyboard! ;)"
Maybe its my bad memory, but I swore I saw a story or 2 earlier toting a Linux PDA, and now a Windows CE device is being immensely praised.
I'm confused. Next thing you know we'll have another RIAA lawsuit story, then a story plugging a movie a day later.

I'm hoping some promising geeks are looking to find missing Doctor Who episodes here, probably to no avail.
Right now, checking anything and everything that is British car related, although very slowly.
Adopting SVG for icons, etc for a Linux window manager to me is a bit trivial.
Having worked with the spec, it hasn't seemed to take over the web, probably due to the lack of editors for it that let you take full advantage.
Flash killer it is not. We need Windows apps that aren't half-assed that do NATIVE SVG support. Exporting and importing just won't cut it.
I won't be impressed until Adobe soups up the plug in and we can play a port of Half-Life with it.
Yes, let's nominate Linus Torvalds for best Linux Geek. Then let's proceed to change the name of the publication to "DUH! magazine".
Are you ICANN or ICANN'T?

I'm sure with all the equipment soldiers carry the Segway will top out at about 1 mph.
But the positive side is that enemy troops will be distracted from laughing so hard seeing our troops ride them into battle.
Nope, I think the Hummer will win this round.

You ever notice when disaster strikes(weather, blackouts, etc), those ham radio people are always there? Hmmm..

Yes, there's a woman that shows up frequently on ads. Here's my web page about her:

It already was in Anime form, under the name "Cowboy BeBop" :)
Gee it only seemed like yesteryear that my car(Triumph Spitfire) was unfairly branded as the "hairdressers car".

Wasn't there also LinuxOne?
There's also the Mini One, which is a stripped-down version of the Mini Cooper.
Adding "one" seems to devalue things.
