Of course not completely sony, but they did help to come up with the compact disc. Beta is also still used in a lot of professional area's, as with mini-discs.
You have to admit the comment about blu-ray is a bit strange.
I do sorts all the time by date and have never once ran into this issue. I have had some problems where lets say, I do a search, and it finds 14,000 or so items, and it takes a while to sort them, but after its done sorting its accurate.
I saw this mentioned someplace, not sure where, but the game is initially set to have a POV of 75 degrees. You can set this to a different number if you would like, I believe the command is POV 90 at the console (` key). If your problem is just first person mode no matter what, then there is a way to go out to third person perspective but the game is not really meant to be played this way. You loose your crosshairs which you use extensivly to figure out what can be done with objects, etc. You may want to try the POV setting though, maybe even set it to like 120 or something.
For example in World of Warcraft there are certian areas that will cause an ATi 9600 and 9800 (and probably more) to have a GPU reset, meaning in essence that the graphics card crashed and the driver had to reset it. ATi allegedly fixed it a few driver releases ago, but it persists. nVidia card have had no such problems.
Ive been playing Wow for quite a while using a 9600xt and have not once come across a GPU reset. Although right now I can't even start the game Silk Road, but I dont think thats a general ATI issue but something else related to my system. You cant make a blanket statement like that though, ive been just about everywhere in wow without having that problem.
I dunno this is coming from someone who has a 12" powerbook and is very happy with it. Quite frankly the whole unit just works as it should, and I've had no suprises with it beyond good ones.
Most of the time people will hook up their powerbook to an external display. Thats why you dont see a huge resolution on the lcd built into it. Powerbooks are great lapops, and im sure the new macbooks are just as nice.
What good (used carefully, since I know some people don't think it's good at all, heheh) would Warden be to anybody if people were able to bypass it by skipping the Launcher?
Im not disagreeing (sp?) here but, the reason it would be handy is if you were not sure if you had a bad program installed on your computer, maybe from the installation of an addon or whatnot. I'll have to read the links when I get off work, thanks for the further reading.
By the way, we went to zg last night, and our entire raid crashed everytime a beserker feared us. Fun good new patch stuff, woot..
The link you sent doesnt really say anything about warden running if you dont use the launcher. It does mention that the launcher has a cheat detecting program built in, to notify those users who might not know they had installed something like that. They then say that its there to stop those who dont know from getting them detected while playing the game, but id assume that when they say detected, they are talking about other means beyond a program that detects it. They do specifically mention that it wont send anything to blizzard if it finds anything, yet doesn't say anything about a secondary cheat detecting progrram that *does* send stuff to blizzard..
So, i dunno, im pretty sure warden only runs while you run the launcher, if you run wow.exe, you dont get any of that.
Actually if you start the game with the normal exe, the warden thing doesn't even come up.
If you do start the game with the new patcher system, from what I understand, it lets you know if you have a trojan type program installed that you werent aware of (or maybe you were), but does not transmit that to anyone.
In any case, we all think your pretty cool for not playing a game for the above reasons. I bet your a blast at parties as well.
Huh i dunno, I get a new phone about once every 2 years. Usually the only time I get a new phone is when my screen becomes too unreadable and im looking for something new. (last phone I bought, an LG MM 535 had a camera built in, one of the reasons I upgraded)
Getting a few new phones a year is a bit much, unless a year to you means a couple months to everyone else.
The quick format option has been around for a while. It's only used if your using the same partitions as were on the disk before. What this does is just wipe out the "table of contents" of the partition. You probably didnt see this because you setup brand new partitions before you get to the part where it asks to format. Im not 100% certain this applies to ntfs though.
They need to make a reality show about it. Think about it.. Throw a bunch of Intel engineers in one house, AMD in the other, and for the first 6 or so episodes show them building the server. Have all the usually reality type arguements and such. It would be a hit!
Having more support for NTFS isn't something thats limited to dual booting. I have an external drive thats formatted in NTFS, and I'd love to be able to write to it using my other computers not running windows.
I recently picked up a job working on macs, as well as getting a powerbook about 6 months ago. First thing that bugged me is that I wasnt able to make any window take up the fullscreen with the maximize button. After working on a mac for a while, I like it much better. I find it somewhat strange now that on Win2k I always work with just one window showing. On a mac, I usually have 3 - 5 programs layered in such a way I can switch between them fast (Indesign / Quark / MultiAd Creator Pro / Finder windows).
Another thing that is just beautiful is expose. It fits perfectly with photoshop. Many times I need to color correct a batch of photos, and it helps a lot to be able to quickly look at all the photo's I have open at once. Working with photoshop on win2k feels archaic in comparison..
We both used to work in a place who, among other things, supported this product called Microsoft Streets and Trips. He was leaving work one day, and a cop pulled him over. The cop told him that he was 'pacing' him and didnt even use a radar on him.
He went to court, printed out the map of our area in streets and trips, and presented that evidence. He pretty much told the judge that his car is incapable of accellerating to 65 (i think thats what the cop said he was going) in that short amount of time.
The judge was so impressed, that after he dropped the charges, he asked my friend what program he used to make that map. My friend got out of a 675 dollar ticket because of that..

I'm playing wow right now and I dont have any warden program running.. Does it hide itself somehow?
And yes, those bastard lvl 1 characters named bbgg suck =)

If i can see thru it, theres too much water.
I get a buzz from 3 beers, but i weigh 135lbs, and only drink maybe once a month.
I honestly like it, makes the bar tab much easier to pay.
And I dont like to be able to see thru my beer. Stouts and Porters are where its at.
I read a bumper sticker the other day... "When Clinton Lied, Nobody Died"
Sums it up nicely i think.

I wonder if the reporter would have released the same information if the target was himself, or say his boss.. probably not.

Innovation at its finest...

When im using a mac, I keep one hand on the keyboard, and use apple+w to close windows.. Much faster then using a mouse.
As the same with Deschutes (Black Butte Porter, Obsidian Stout), Big Sky Brewing (Moose Drool)
You could try something like this: D-Skin
but he *looks* like it
