I'm about to start a project for fun using C and I was wondering what the best version would be C89? C99? C11? It seems that nothing in C99/C11 is all that compelling and I'd like to have solid multi-threaded support (POSIX threads). Any reason to use anything other than C89 features?
Being blatantly partisan would harm their business (by insulting their Republican and Independent user base). As a public company, they have a fiscal duty to not place personal political beliefs above the interests of the company (or a shareholder lawsuit might ensue).
If there is a "Filter out any negative Hillary Clinton news until we get enough pressure to release it" filter, then they are setting themselves up for trouble.
I don't think there is a high enough mountain of paper work that can be signed to eliminate SpaceXs liability. We *should* be able to make such agreements, but I don't think we can.
The elimination of skin color preferences in admission would be a much more effective way of helping underrepresented minorities excel in college (a college where they are on equal footing with everyone else).
I assume that Uber will now receive special treatment in Saudi Arabia, as the country, itself, is invested in the company. I sure hope no one sees that as a good idea.
I suppose the batteries could have been completely discharged and then charged while installed on the plane (on the ground). I wonder if they took that extra step?
Yes, cars that don't need large amounts of materials that are destructively mined.
The law being in place prevents innovation. It can be changed later, but the damage is already done.
This sounds, for lack of a better word, stupid.
How do we know what type of automobile will be the most efficient and environmentally friendly? How about a series hybrid that burns bio-generated liquid fuel in a super-efficient external combustion engine, powering electric motors to drive the wheels?
The Dutch government can't possible know which technology to choose and any attempt will destroy any chance to find out.
At least my carbon credits are on the up and up.
Just like this post: http://www.foxnews.com/politic...
...and leave NATO. Maybe a US_UK_CAN organization?
What is so difficult about making a standard headphone jack water resistant? Or is "water resistance" simply a distraction/spin?
I would say yes. Having an open, unrestricted economy benefits us. China just doesn't realize that yet.
Out little Clippy has been groomed from an infant to be a Microsoft executive. We think his hair will turn silver!
It looks like 2014 saw a large bump in employees:
:)
Fiscal Year Ending Head Count Net Revenue (US$) Growth Net Income (US$) Growth
June 30, 2016 114,074 $85.32B -9% $16.79B 38%
June 30, 2015 117,354 $93.58B 8% $12.19B -45%
June 30, 2014 128,076 $86.83B 12% $22.07B 1%
June 30, 2013 99,139 $77.85B 6% $21.86B 29%
June 30, 2012 94,290 $73.72B 5% $16.98B -27%
June 30, 2011 90,412 $69.94B 12% $23.15B 23%
Going from 99,139 in 2013 to 114,074 in 2016 seems like it tracks better with previous growth patterns.
http://news.microsoft.com/fact... But please don't let this change your opinion.

Not taking sides in any "stem cell war," but adult stem cells do seem to be the ones we hear about having these miraculous effects.
I just want a big, dumb, high-def monitor that I can plug other, cheap things into (and upgrade those cheap things as needed).

...unless they need to run to their safe space. :/
Is this the first positive post about CO2 every on Slashdot?

I think I prefer the deaths from other forms of power than this complete evacuation for years at a time.
Weren't there folks on here claiming that the simple act of losing the information is enough to cause harm and allow a lawsuit?
Hey, I learned to code without access to the Internet!
How about we lower taxes to a reasonable level so that companies don't feel the need to do this?
