Finally! How long have we been waiting for something like this in a Windows system? Granted, UNIX/Linux/etc has had it forever and I love it that I don't have to reboot every time I install, for example, a cd burner app in Linux. So why should I have to reboot when I install something like Nero? Or anything besides the kernel or hardware for that matter?

Linux: Because rebooting is for adding hardware.

  5. Re:Knoppix + partimage on PC Cloning Solution? · · Score: 1
I'll second the recommendation for partimage, its great for Linux systems.

But if you're using any Windows systems with NTFS, you should know that NTFS support for partimage is still in the experimental stage. This is according to the Partimage website. To quote them:

The NTFS (Windows NT File System) is currently not fully supported: this means you will be able to save an NTFS partition if system files are not very fragmented, and if system files are not compressed. In this case, you will be able to save the partition into an image file, and you will be able to restore it after. If there is a problem when saving, an error message will be shown and you won't be able to continue. If you have successfully saved an NTFS NTFS partition, you shouldn't have problems as you restore it (except in the case of bugs). Then the best way is to try to save a partition to know if it is possible. If not, try to defragment it with diskeeper or another tool, and try to saving the partition again.

Personally, I can't wait until NTFS support becomes stable.

I used to roadie for an indy metal band a couple of years ago, and that experience introduced me to a few online methods of distribution.

First, here are some websites that might fit your bill:

    Garage Band
    Sound Click
    Independent Music Online
And a list of other sites that might interest you: http://www.rmpmusic.com/

If you choose to use a third party website to promote your music, I and many others in my local music scene, still believe a web site dedicated to your band is the best idea. Offer full CD or near CD quality MP3 downloads of your best singles, demos, etc. Add a list of your gigs, news and updates relating to your band, perhaps a press kit full of print-sized logos, promo photos, and posters, in addition to a physical CD to send to record labels and credible review sites and mags. And also offer a way to buy your band's CD off the official website. Use something like PayPal for that. It's easy enough.

    Good luck.

Not that I recommend going the extreme route of change, but maybe what you really want to do is something you never thought you'd ever do. I never thought I'd become a firefighter (Though I still have several months of training ahead of me).

And it can't hurt to try, considering Aurora has already hijacked your PC, what more can an uninstaller do besides uninstall the malware.

And from personal experience, I've had a few Malware uninstallers from the official company that did a better job removing the malware than SpyBot, MS Anti-Spyware, and Lavasoft Ad-aware.

I picked up a copy of WinXP Pro for $10, and Visual Studio for $11. So I'm sure there's programs out there for refurbishurs to buy cheap licenses.

This is Sony we are talking about here. They are not known for quality video game hardware (ala Nintendo). Look back at the original PlayStation and the PS2 - Lots of dead motors in those. Why their other lines of electronic products such as the Walkman and their CD Players don't have as many burnt out motors, we may never know. But, I have, sitting no less than 3 feet from me, 3 Sony PlayStations with dead motors.

Sony's video game hardware is not known for quality. Now, if they had the same quality of manufacturing and product warrenty as Nintendo, that would be sweet.

Back then, Square Soft wasn't doing too good financially, and the idea of closing up shop was being floated around. So, Hironobu Sakaguchi, godfather of FF, decided to go out with a bang, and create a wild, adventurous role playing game, and dubbed it "Final Fantasy" as in Square Soft's Final game if you will.
