I used to shoot targets for fun and I don't even own a gun nor I have permit to carry one. And, yes, it takes lot of skill. The only reason I stopped was that I have hearing problems and even with protectors my ears hurt. I've always suffered from tinnitus and decided to quit shooting just in case it was going to make my problem worse.

I've been thinking of taking up archery. Oddly enough you don't see these people protesting against that and an arrow/bolt can be just as deadly as a bullet.

My only complain is that any email you send to them gives you an autoreply telling you to phone their postmaster helpdesk.

Imagine if Apache played dirty like Microsoft do. Imagine if they slowed down/messed up the returned data if the user agent was Internet Explorer. Or changed a few bytes of POST data before processing it.

They'd be shooting themselves in the foot. As soon as webmasters realized that their web server didn't play nice with the browser used by the vast majority of users, they'd jump ship. This is nothing like the MSN search/IIS thing.

Now, if MS made IE work slower with Apache sites than with IIS sites... They might be shooting themselves in the foot as well.

I guess it would be a game of chicken. Only, instead of cars they would be using webmasters and users to see who flinched first. And it might end up in disaster for the loser.

My favorite is a Harry Potter/Star Wars crossover. But he'll have to cut out the naughty parts. I think it's unfair for RMS to bash McVoy. If anything, he should bash whoever took the decision of using bitkeeper in the first place for He (they) knew what they were getting into. In "Grim Fandango", when Many is trying to get an incriminating picture from Lola, who is dying. He is obsessed with getting the picture to the point of ignoring her suffering. His motivations are understandable: the picture will allow him to blackmail somebody who will let him go rescue his true love, yet I can't help but flinch when she asks him if he could have loved her, and he insist in his obsession. This is the only game I've found that contains a truly Noir atmosphere, and it doesn't even resort to the "hard boiled detective" cliche.

The final scene of "The Longest Journey". Of course you know who the old lady is long before the end comes, but seeing a white feathered Crow hop over to his friend and ask for a story truly bought a tear of joy to my eyes. It reminded me of "Driving Miss Daisy" final scene with Morgan Freeman feeding Jessica Tandy.
