What? whose cost? Wtf are you talking about? In what sane world does a giant defense contractor General Dynamix (market cap 27.04 Billion) selling high tech fighting hardware MOVE less money than a much smaller game company Ubisoft (market cap 909.62 Million) hypothetically loses in a quarter? Only in the made up world of piracy losses.
The price drops for the retailer as well, it doesn't take a whole hell of a lot of staffing and rent to sell and distribute an e-book. I'd say you can easily cut that 45% at least in half.
I think there are a variety of benefits from integration of technology into a business. A given technology service might make the business process faster, less tedious, more accurate, more traceable, or more manageable. Not all of those features translate directly into the bottom line, though many times they affect it indirectly.
Bill Gates contributed $40bn to the world in history's single biggest act of charity
Perhaps the largest donation, but not biggest act of charity.
The Widow's Offering
41Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins,[a]worth only a fraction of a penny.[b]
43Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on."
This is fantastic information, and I will probably use this as a reference for people who ask me what is needed to become a good developer. I would add:
get a good background in the SDLC
learn how users work (customer support, while painful, is pretty good at this)
learn enough to be dangerous about the other fields with which you will likely interact (management and marketing for starters)
Lot's of what you say makes a lot of sense, so I don't mean to belittle that when I ask, how is "clinging to guns" unintelligent?
Also, you have a point on capital punishment (they could be innocent) but I wonder, what is the number of murders that would have faced capital punishment who are released (pardoned, good behavior, prisons too full, etc) or escape that go on to kill more innocents, and how does that compare to the number of wrongfully executed criminals? I think we should strive for the greater good, as a perfect justice systems is unrealistic.
Your self-righteous hate of Christians really, really undermines your moral high ground.
Most of the suggestions are, eat moderately, exercise, have accountability for yourself. These are not "medieval" attitudes, this is good advice. Your contemporary "take medication for whatever ails you" attitude isn't helping until we find a pill that fixes all of the health problems associated with obesity. Until then, we can do like we did with ulcers and treat the symptoms, so to speak.
With your mention of the constitution, I would think you wouldn't have to put "right to privacy" in quotes. Illegal wiretaps are a clear violation of "the right of the people to be secure...from unreasonable searches", and are due more than hypothetical outrage.
Our presidents take an oath and are bound by the constitution, and if we don't hold them to that, we deserve the government we get.
You seem to imply that the proper way to effect change is to wait until the next election and vote them out. I'm damned sure not waiting that long for a redress of grievances.
Torture as opposed to just killing it and taking its loot like all the other creatures, gee, what a morally unacceptable inclusion. As an aside, you don't HAVE to do the quest, you can take it or leave it.
um...what? How did this get modded up? The parent neither says nor implies such a thing. He is commenting on what Americans should do with regard to our policy. Jesus, what a fucking whiny lot we have to deal with.
I like it how you make the parent sound like they actively endorse malware and system instability by wanting to install his own apps. You don't necessarily "sacrifice" anything.
Moreover, just because you don't care about the convenience of memory cards doesn't mean everyone doesn't, and many people do not use Picassa or Iphoto. You may be in more of a niche than you think.
is it theft like stealing a pen from work, or is it theft like stealing a car
I like false dichotomies, lets try this one. Is your post a troll or do you really not understand how taking something from someone else is different from copying?
If I copy your homework and we both get A's, I cheated, but you get your A. If I steal your homework, you get a zero and I get an A. that's more like stealing a car. I'd say that illegally copying files is more like cheating than theft.
That is patently not true and it is a non sequitur from the argument presented. One on the other side could just as easily say "it's really, really sad that not wanting children to be bombarded by sex and foul language automatically makes you a conservative" and be equally as wrong.
Don't use these false dichotomies to rationalize your own viewpoint's shortcomings.
True. I had an unopened bottle of Crown Royal in my bags for a trip to vegas, brought in anticipation of celebrating wins that did not happen. When I got home I opened my bag and the bottle was on top with about 1/5 gone.
I can only hope it got the guy drunk enough to protect the possessions of someone else.
I'll donate to this project.
In a manual or automatic transmission, or does it matter?

Sorry, misread your reply, ignore the above statement.
No, you're wrong. TPB doesn't "host" it, they link to it. Like google.

disclaimier, I am in the parent's niche as well.
Your sig is evidently not true.
Is that all it takes these days to hit the antisocial psychopath arsehole level? Man, all this work for nothing.

I have the number and the date memorized, but for the life of me I can't seem to remember my 3 digit pin.

I don't do this, but I'm still confused as to what I am supposed to do with grease.
