Just fine thanks, and as as long as we are endorsing slippery slope metaphors, how do those shackles fit? I hope they're not too tight. You might ask your bartender to loosen them a bit if they give you blisters, but as you're not struggling to get out it probably won't be a problem.
Yes, lets not have anyone raising a stink over being kept tabs on for little to no reason based on some "higher ups" policy. That would be terribly uncivil.
I couldn't tell you how much damage our MP3 group did, per song. Neither can NYCL, neither can RIAA or any other entity, because you DON'T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE LEECHED FROM HER, AND IN TURN, FROM THE ORIGINAL LEECHERS.
Perhaps we don't know exactly, but it wouldn't be that hard to put an upper maximum based on upload throughput records from the ISP, and I imagine it wasn't in the hundreds of gigabytes. If you estimate ~3 megs a song, she would have to upload 421.87500 gigabytes worth of data to equal 144,000 (RIAA's famous number) downloads. If she is like me, that would take a while at 40kbps upload cap. I would think that she should not be culpable for derivative downloads in the digital age, but that is certainly a possibility.
Regardless, you seem to be using the same faulty math as the RIAA to calculate damages. Mainly, that each download represents a lost sale. Based on your generous $1.50/song, solely by her making the song available 130 fewer people purchased a song than would have already. I have my doubts that the numbers were that high.
You're right about license to distribute, but I think you're wrong about the cost having no bearing on the case. Other factors (such as cost) should come in to play because they don't have any metrics on the amount of distribution that occurred and the distributions that probably did occur were not for profit. Moreover, there is a fixed amount of distribution that could occur in most instances due to the limitation of upload bandwidth, uptime, etc. The penalty for this type of distribution being in the hundreds of thousands lopsided as the "x dollars to buy" penalty.
I don't think clicking on advertisements from candidates and reading their propaganda^W websites is going to help anyone become an "informed voter". I agree with your sentiment though.
Not being able to drive over 80 would be quite the pain where the speed limit is 80 (this is the speed limit in rural west Texas, as well as other places I'm sure.) Imagine trying to pass a vehicle going from 71-79 erratically. I'm not saying that this isn't a good idea, but needing to go over 80 is a valid need in some places.
p.s. don't give me the blah blah about driving over the speed limit when passing, I've taken defensive driving for my job upwards of 8 times, it just ain't reality.
You pretty much proved my point...each of those 300 individuals would not have mattered on their own, even in that specific of an instance. In the context of other related votes, it begins to matter, but individually, it matters not.
This concept of not being willing to throw away a vote posits one thing, that your single vote matters at all. It doesn't. If you vote for the candidate that wins, have you contributed? No, he would have won with or without you. Instead, you sold out to the status quo and have yourself to blame for your lack of patience and candidate that does not represent you in any meaningful way.
I will grant that some level of compromise is warranted, but I'll be damned if I will vote for the lesser of two evils. They have to at least not suck.
Nah, that whole paragraph was pretty much partisan bullshit ended by a complete lie, then an an interesting note in the next paragraph, but quickly followed by more partisan bullshit. You didn't miss much.
Just bought the game based on positive/. feedback. Brought it home, rippped dvd to file ( no problem) and installed. After installation, was redirected to their website to sign up for an account.
Tried to create an account without giving up my credit card 3 times and finally gave up and went to the store to buy a $32 two month pass to play this game. Right now I'm 52% into a patch, have spent nearly 3 hours and out ~$100. Hope it is worth it.
1700 isn't that great of a rating, and hell, it took me months to get that, and I consider myself to be a decent player (might have been my feral druid spec:S). Besides, if you have to have some ungodly rating just to use gear that is pretty much a requisite to being competitive it will be impossible for those of us joining in late in the game to ever get to compete. Is your gladiator tag not enough shinies for you?
AC has the exact response I was formulating, though maybe a bit more course. Sure, there may be some radicals that we should worry about, but to associate flying a rebel flag to a violent racist assassin is just ignorant. We southerners actually have a cultural heritage and modicum of self restraint along with our differing opinions and proclivity for firearms. You should look us up sometime.
I would agree that the telco immunity is a micro-issue, but the implication is not. He made a promise to hold them accountable and support a filibuster, and he did not. I no longer trust him to keep any of his other promises because of that.
As a side note, have YOU seen the KKK? Do you have any references to back up your claim of their insanity? I've enough bogeymen to worry about as it is.
Please do not provide content-devoid links like the first one. I didn't follow the rest, and they may have some decent content, but the first one is a meaningless, sensationalist two line opinion that provides nothing to the discussion, and puts you on my foes list.
you obviously know nothing of welfare nor have you ever been poor. Get some fucking perspective before you mouth off quite so much. Moreover, see how long your society sustains itself if you leave the poor to starve in the streets. You will long for the day you had an underfunded NASA budget. I can't believe how highly you were moderated for such a ridiculous comment.

Unless, of course, you have noscript.
Yes, yards are close enough for us, but by God, we're still using English measurements.
nice point, but wrong wording:

Not really relevant, because disabled people can still email. Why do you insult the disabled?

Trying to equate taxes with being mugged is pure idiocy. Maybe, but it sure feels that way.

It's adorable that you think that your individual vote affected the election. Really it is.
