Do you have any idea how fucking annoying it is to read a post where the only way to understand what the fuck the poster is saying is to visit the links? It's a teenage blogger technique and I'd expect more out of slashdotters.

Get corrupted? Most people there are already corrupt. The little media contact at the bottom of the press release (Phil Teranova) is a manipulative bastard who would stab his mother in the back if it could make him a dime.

Religious war? More like a troll. Try giving some examples to support your opinion. Good for design and that's about it? What rock have you been hiding under? I know a TON of scientists who are using macs, because OS X has the ability to run all the UNIX tools we are accustomed to, but they have an easy to use interface and all the business type software that's missing from a linux machine. Plus, being able to drop into an apple store in any major city to get help when your video out isn't working and you have to give that powerpoint presentation tomorrow is a nice bonus.

The whole "they don't have the software" argument has been dead for a long time - the only markets where OS X software isn't up to par with windows are niche ones - specialized proprietary software with a small user base, or things like games. As much as it might shock some people, most people don't buy their computers to play games.

Come on, if you're going to bash macs, update your talking points. 1998 called, it wants its troll back.

Not to be a physics nazi, but the 'image' is not at the surface of the mirror, it's actually a virtual image that lies behind the mirror. The correct way to say it would be "the surface is a few inches away, but the image is a few inches away plus the distance between the mirror and the objects".

Don't feel bad - when I was an undergrad I walked out on a physics recitation because the TA fucked up the difference between real and virtual images too, and I was so disgusted I left ;)

You know, this argument might have held water at one point - but it no longer does. I can get the unrated versions of many films, including raunchy shit like the american pie movies, on blockbuster online and in blockbuster retail stores. Yeah, they don't carry outright porn, but they aren't going in and modifying movies to get rid of the nudity, either. Blockbuster has plenty of movies I want to see, and blockbuster online lets me see lots of them on the cheap. If I want porn, I'll download some from the internet.

Not only does blockbuster online (the thing being compared with netflix) do everything netflix does, you also get coupons for various in-store promotions, as well as free in-store rentals included in the cost of your rental program. I get two free in-store rentals each month, which means if I decide on a whim that I want to see a certain flick, I can pick it up without paying any extra on top of my monthly subscription fee. I still have my 3-out-at-a-time movies to pick from as well. BB does everything netflix does, plus some.

I said I wished he would die so there might be a chance of a snowball effect that could free this country from the corruption in the government. I was BLASTED as unpatriotic, some folks going so far as saying I'd better hope the secret service didn't find out about my wishes, because it was clearly illegal.

How far has our country fallen from those lofty goals set out by our founding fathers, who believed it was the RIGHT of a person to overthrow a government which took away his basic rights. Today, it's illegal to even suggest the president deserves to be killed for the murders, lies, and corruption he has brought to the American people. Land of the free my ass.
