It started taking too long to sync Outlook to my Palm which sucked since I used to do it at the end of the workday and waiting 10 - 30 minutes for it to finish syncing wore on my patience.
Sounds like you have some serious problems there. It should never take that long to sync unless you create a MB's worth of new data each day.
I have a Vx on a serial connection, and it only take 10 secs to sync. Only ever goes in the 10-30 min range if I'm installing stuff counted in MBs.
Do a soft-reset.
Check connection speed setting, make sure it's correct (might be set slow, or too fast).
Dissable all hacks.
Take note of what it says on the screen of the PDA when doing a hotsync, might give some clue if there is one app that causing it.
Make sure you not using some really old version of hotsync.
Search google usernet archives.
If all of that fails, back up all you data, and do a hard-reset. While you there, re-install all the sync software. In other words, wipe the slate clean as possible.
Fotunatly, I have never needed to do this. But it should solve the problem 99% of the time.
I've had my Vx for over 2 years now. I use it all the time. I never had to reinstall stuff, and syncing only takes about 10 seconds, much faster than re-entering data from paper to my desktop. that's for sure.
Don't forget, the parachutes don't have to bring the plain down perfectly, and save the plane, they can just serve to reduce the impact speed. Maybe they could be deployed just before imapact at the cost of damaging the airframe?
I'm sure a lot of the other animals would love to see us off (except the ones which rely on us to survive because we fucked up their little part of the ecosystem).
No, but if the manufacturer refused to service the car because someone put a mod-chip in the onboard computer to get more HP out of it, and put it back to normal before they sold it to me. I would be pissed off at the manufacturer because there is nothing wrong with the car. If the chip was still in the car when I took it in for service, then that would be a different story.
And how does pumping a bit of air through a set of tubes destroy the ozone layer? Not all air conditioners have to use gas/refigorator type set-ups. For a jacket, simply pumping air through would do the trick.
I think people who installed mod chips pretty well know what they were doing.
Until--as the artical pointed out--the xBox is sold 2nd-hand to some completely inocent person.
Certinaly won't do the xBox reputation any good if people are finding they can't get on-line, and that there's nothing they can do about it.
Sure--as the artical says--you may be forced to by a new box, more cash for the vendors. But would you still want an xBox after all than? Maybe a Playstation would seem like a better option the 2nd time 'round. Atleast you know you want get banned from anything.
I half agree with the artical. While I like the gadgets. Some of the gadgets that only have a very particular use can be a bit silly. And the special effects do seem to be taking away part of the Macgiver (don't hassle my spelling please) appeal of the movies (than being the use of a bit of intelligence as entertainment, rather than things blowing up).
To many times have I left needing a jacket on a big walk, only to find I get too hot. Carrying it is pain. Even if it's raining, it can still get hot inside.

3) I'd like to see a laptop that isn't assembled in layers. The iBook must have atleast 5 if you include the keyboard and the airport slot tray etc.
I think the question is. Why isn't Slashdot using CSS, standards compliant XHTML, and using basic design principals to make the site not only look better, but easier to use, faster to download, and more compatible in different devices?
GIFs instead of PNGs are the least of Slashdots worries.

Wonder if they validate the string at all.
Bah! Doesn't even work on NN6.2. Just click OK (or press ESC so you don't move the pointer), and the menu pops-up as usual.

Unfortunaly, I don't think half the /.ers understand the concept of mutual aid unless it's to do with computer software.
And assuming there is not?
You'll need a certain amount of time to deploy the parachute too -- if you stall your plane at 50 feet, it's probably not going to save you.
Well, I don't know the details of the artical, but it obviously worked for him didn't it? Maybe he didn't stall at 50 feet, maybe it was higher.
Does a rudder falling off an commercial airliner count? If it can happen to them, I'm sure similar accidents can happen to smaller aircraft.

The clipboard is your friend.
It looked pretty stable to me for something that is a short tube with a rocket up it's ass flying against gravity.
