    I think as Apple develops further and keeps working on their current model (like it or not, their method works for them) then Apple hardware will become cheaper.


    Don't you people get it? The prices are ARTIFICIAL; that means not tied in any significant way to the costs of the hardware.

    Yeah, we all hate SCO and their frivolous lawsuits, but does that mean UNIX isn't stable and secure anymore?

    SCOware != Unix
    Linux != Unix
    AIX != Unix

    The IDEALS of Unix are what make Unix secure. Any idiot can easily produce a VERSION of Unix that, while adhering to the standards, is notoriously insecure. (e.g. bad default install, buffer overflows, ... etc)

    well, safety switches make handguns safer.



    but so many people own handguns that don't already have safety switches, and may not be willing to get this feature, so i wonder how many lives it will save..
