I build and maintain computers from scratch Wow, you must be crazy smart, I hear CPU's are real hard to make from scratch.
Just messin.. $825 is a pretty good deal for a mac tho. If I had the extra cash, I think I'd be all over it. Where did you find a gig ram for $125? Best mini stuff i could find was here.
Back in the day, I used to play Asheron's Call. There was an internet radio station at the time (CPRadio) that covered several events in the game. It was pretty cool, cause you got commentary of events, mixed with some good music.
And I don't think most RPG'rs need anything extra to strengthen their addiction.
Not to troll, but I noticed that this link had something to do with http://www.archive.org.. If you haven't been to this page before, you must go! It has been around for several years, and has some pretty kick ass archives of the internet.. yes.. the internet. You can get a look at snapshots of sites differet points in time. A must see.. I like looking at tech sales sites and lookin at the crazy prices:)
While some may say that not all the things I download with BT are on the good side of legal... it has been very useful to download legit stuff. I've downloaded several Linux distros much faster than I would have been able to do from a regular server, also has been good for downloading other free programs and small time videos that want to be distributed to as many people as possible.
And if you're gunna use a service for non-legit stuff, why wouldn't you use exeem lite or something where you don't give a credit card # or name..
Believe it or not, it's not necessarily the best interface for a lot of things. Yes, but how many applications make is so easy to give you access to such a wide variety of viruses? I kid, I kid.
Actually, I agree with the parrent on this one. I prefer applications to have their own gui. This can help where speed of use is an issue. Also, if you buy software, throw the cd in, and all that is on the cd are a bunch of.html files, you are prolly gunna be pretty pissy.
what happens if you accelerate to 99.9% of the speed of light? You start being able to watch early 90's tv shows. Errr wait a min, does that mean that TBS is going 99.9% of the speed of light.. humm
Well duh.. easy password are easy to remember. You can't seriously mean that I shouldn't use a basic dictionary word such as 'password' or 'cat' for the password for my personal files.
and urges people on this list to 'bow out of this exercise entirely.'
Honestly, can you really expect people not to take free stuff? Smart rich people get and stay that way by being cheap, what better way, then getting free toys.
Since the people getting these products should have a good amount of tech knowledge, hopefully their reviews will be well done and informative, instead of "This product is cool"
forgot to include br's so formating looks pretty dumb on that post.. also, I started downloading a file, was getting pretty good speeds(150k/s), then lost connection to eXeem, and havnet been able to get back in:|
Just downloaded the program, the interface is pretty p2p standard. When installing, It asks you to install an eXeem IE Toolbar, which I did not do.. Also, it seems to be having problems connecting to the network and searching for files. Hopefully it will be as widely used as suprnova was, and have some good download speeds.
After several tries, I was able to connect to the network, and find a few files, but there were very few results, and only 1 seed on each of them.
Since suprnova has been down, I've mostly just been using torrentspy. Anyone have an other recommendations for sites? I prefer just having web pages, so I don't have to run a separate client.
In the computer labs at my school, all comps are using hp L1820 LCD's. I'm in my third year, and they've been here since I started.
Lots of people have access to these monitors, and they are running 24/7. Lets just say that people aren't nice to them, ie, pressing as hard as they can on the screen to make 'cool' lcd effects, hitting the screens hard, drawing on them with pen, pushing them over, etc etc. Anyways, these things are like rocks! They take a beating, and still work. If I was going to buy a LCD, I'd look into hp.
it takes about 3 months before a unpatched Linux machine will be owned Maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't it be pwnd or 0wned or 0wn3d or 0\/\/|/|3|) or some variation on that instead of owned
If you want a constant layout for a page, why not just use php -- require("top.php") page contents, then require("bottom.php") -- or even a !--#include virtual in html? I can't stand using most webdev tools, why not just use a simple, free text editor?
I have 64 bit fedora core 3 installed on my laptop right now. The OS works great, but there is a big lack of wireless card drivers. Now with 32bit linux, you are able to run the windows wireless drivers using emulation in linux fine; however, since the windows drivers are 32 bit, you can't use them with a 64 bit os! XP64 should bring more 64 bit wireless drivers, which could be emulated in linux, thus allowing me to use wireless in linux, instead of having to boot to windows to get a wireless connection!
Intel is adapting to the overall MARKET, not merely to AMD's strategies and successes I dunno.. AMD chips if ur lookin at speed vs money, seem to be a better deal.. isn't that what businesses should be looking for?
I first heard about The Watchmen through my g/f this year as it is on the required readings list for one of her English courses at Queen's University in Ontario. I'm looking to reading it during the Christmas break this year, as she really enjoys the book. Thought it was kinda cool to be doing literary analysis of a comic in a university English course.
Also great seeing more comic books come to life on screen.. lets hope this one will be better than some of the latest ones that have come out--I won't mention any names as to hold back the flames.
I've been using two monitors for about for years now, and I don't thik I could ever go back! The swing arm thing in the article seems cool, but I must say that I love my Ikea Desk! Was around $200 and the moitors can swing--I'm a student and my bed is beside my desk, so I can swing my monitor to face my bed to watch tv and movies!
The two monitors come in very handy when programing, writing reports, or surfing the web while IM'ing. Just did a networking assignment last night, and I could have several consoles open on the 2nd monitor to test clients/server while coding on the other monitor.
If you haven't tried 2 monitors, do it now! No excuses, 's cheap--if you don't have a vid card that can do 2 monitors, get a 2nd cheap pci card for like $20 and throw another monitor on.. do it!
If you're gunna spend that much cash just for hardware.. why not get an AlienWare gaming desktop. PCI Express, raid, etc.. plus I like the look a lot more than macs. A dual G5 would be nice, but costs way too much money.
Personally, if I was going to buy a mac, I would use the mac stuff with it.. I mean you are paying extra for the look and feel of being on a mac. If you are just gunna use windows, why not just buy a PC--if I'm not mistaken they are a fair bit cheaper.

heh Warcraft III..
I actually bought Half Life 2 the day it came out because I wanted to be able to play CS online without the hassel.
Before that, the last game I bought was uhhhh Quake 2.. haha

Well, that was more of a hypothetical situation..

Martin Sargent from Unscrewed did this on his show a while back.. he seemed to enjoy the taste :)
How many mouse buttons does it have?
Please.. it doesn't have any.. it just *knows* what you want to do before you *know* what you want to do..

Well, hardcore investors won't be able to do anything as all their money will be tied up on the paypal website.
I guess this means that I should return the porche I just bought so I can use the money to pay fines..
