    Wrong. A cashier has to print a copy of the receipt (with your card # on it. YOUR copy may not have that number but the vender copy most certainly does.), have YOU sign it, then it stays in the cash register. If that transaction is challeneged, they'll bring that receipt up to verify your signature.

    At least that's the way it was when I worked in retail. It's funny what you learn from your boss when you neglect to do something.

    Blizzard games are copyrighted, and they worked around their protection mechanism. I don't like the DMCA any more than you do, but the expectation that Blizzard shouldn't have done anything is ridiculous. Those dumb-asses at BNetD couldn't have done that without knowing the legal guns would have been leveled at them.

    I find it amusing that you're questioning my morals by defending a group that tried to undermine Blizzard.

    a.) Now I'm stuck carrying aroundd a thumb drive and keeping all my computers up to date.

    b.) Opera's doing what I want without that fuss.

    c.) I still haven't found the extensions I need to make Firefox like Opera.

    Seeing as how BNetd allowed illegit keys to be played and how the games industry needs AAA titles to survive, anybody who boycotted Blizzard would have been an overzealous short-sighted moron. What did you guys honestly expect? Blizzard to say "Hey guys, take over our services! We won't use the legal recourses we legitimately have avilable to stop it! Afterall, we want to maintain a sparkly reputation on Slashdot!"

One of the common comments made about the XBOX 360 screens is that it looks like the same number of polys but with normal mapping and some shadows. To a gamer, that doesn't look like 10x the power, especially when some XBOX games already do shadows.

    Is it even worth comparing them based on graphical prowess? The PS2 is significantly inferior to the XBOX when it comes to graphics, but its game library is far richer. It is for that reason alone I have a PS2 and not an XBOX.

    Yeah, they quickly scavanged up a nation wide wireless network service complete with Revolution compatible emulators, flash memory, and ready to go ROMs so they can flip off the PSP even though it's not competing with the Revolution.

    Screw respecting copyright, especially when the games are NO LONGER AVAILABLE. I want service.

    a.) Make the downloads reliable and quick.
    b.) Make the emulator behave reasonably, especially with the controller I have.
    c.) Don't flood my screen with demands that I vote for you. :P

    I'd pay for this not because I'd be morally or ethically right, but rather because I'm getting value for my money.

    I don't know why in this age of spending $4 for a cup of coffee business types think I'm going to go out of my way to save a few bucks.

    That's great when you're running one computer. When you're running on more than one (like I am, for example) it's a liability.

    I routinely browse the web at my workstation at work, my desktop at home, and my laptop. One one is different from the other two, it's VERY noticable. Since Opera's got a "package it all" mentality vs. a modular approach, these irritations are usually quick to subside. With extensions, you have to go find each one and install them.

    Don't get me wrong, I understand that they're easy to find, powerful, and probably not that HUGE of deal to deal with. However, I have very little 'fiddle with my computer' time.

    He also gave 'The Phantom Menace' 3 and a half stars.

    A LOT of people, be it here on Slashdot or on other forus, are trying to convince me really really hard that RotS is a good movie. FINE. Show me a review from a guy who thought the first two movies were dreadfully boring! If THAT GUY can say the movie was decent, I'll have a better attitude about it. Otherwise, you're only appealing to those who are already going to see it.

    Hehe. Well I'd encourage you to wait until Nintendo actually shows some video or screens. A couple of sites reported that the 2-3 times as powerful as the GameCube bit was a misquote.

    I have no idea what's true, so it's more 'wait and see'. We're bound to find out a LOT more this August at the SpaceWorld show in Japan. (that is, of course, assuming that E3 doesn't yield more info...)

    On the one hand, I can't imagine Nintendo would make a machine so significantly inferior. On the other, a $200 machine with cool controllers and a library of 20 years worth of games... well even if it's not graphically that impressive, that'd still be a hell of a buy.

    I just can't believe I'm actually excited about a Sony game machine for once.
