if you are a true diehard fan of Phrack you already have all the issues mirrored locally because you've studied them thoroughly.

No, Seriously,if you never read it, do it! Even for just 'that' article on Smashing the stack... It's far more meaningful than some 'security' course I had in college...
The ironic thing in all this (with SuperSize Me and Micheal Moore's Movies) is that poeple usually blame the sensationalism that hide a part of the facts.
Yet if it was not for that sensationalism, those 'documentaries' would get little or not attention.
It seems somewhere that people prefer illusion and ignorance than the truth.A thorough documentary explaining both sides to the story would probably be too borring for it to gain popularity...
How often do your friends and relatives come to you for help with that stuff?
How True, How true!
Just last week, I spent time clearing a computer infected with (I kid you not) around 700 Spywares and 125 virus (and/or worms)...
The poor user didn't have a single clue how to maintaint a computer. She use it witout any Anti-virus, firewall, or even installing any updates. She called me when the dman thing stoped working. I can't blame her:
-"It worked yesterday... What did I do wrong?"
-"Nothing much... But if this was a house it would mean you left every door and windows open and you didn't clean it for months"
it costs time and money... The two most precious things in America...;)
Not seriously, If I was living there, I would take this occassion to make sure there was legislation forcing a recount AND a Re-vote if the difference was less then 0.1% (or a 3 sigma limit or whatever)
I looked in the forums, and they say they use a Non-GPL driver for NTFS... I don't know which one they are talking about, but that's the reason why the GPL edition of the LiveCD won't write (read?) NTFS.
I was gonna say this program would never work here (Montreal) because of the Cold, but there is not one but 2 locations right HERE, within 10Km of my actual location...
Mind you, i'm not so sure, anyone took any of those bikes yesterday considering it was -26C outside (-15F) And with the wind, it felt like -40C...
I'll have to agree with the parent post. You can't make a lot of money with LAN party, except if you use this as front to get people to donate money.
But if you are just looking for a reason to trow a Lan Party, you better PLAN that Lan Party. If you fail to Plan, you Plan to fail.. This might help: http://www.lanparty.com/theguide/
Sure it's possible to live without the Record Industry, but it's praticly impossible to make it big:
-You don't have the social network and/or money to push your songs on the air
-You don't have a vast distribution network to make sure CD get sold almost everywhere.
-You don't have the credibility to rent a large studio and/or organise a concert.
That doesn't mean you can't succeed. Just that's you'll struggle more to acheive the same goal, then if you sell out...
Well, nice idea.... Guess it's time to edit the Subculture page... Except in Nebraska
It's far more meaningful than some 'security' course I had in college...
or here
magnificent Aurora australiensis, even if it is horribly misnamed.
:)
I hate to be a Grammar Nazis (Hell i'm not even a native english speaker) but shouldn't that be aurora australis ?
And if you don't like the name just say it's a Polar Aurora
you could try the BBC.
The BBC is great! I even tend to watch BBCWorld on satelitte TV instead of the usual US Channels.
Another a bit closer to (US) home : http://www.cbc.ca/
I forgot what it is called though
<C:\DOS> Maybe
No matter which way you look at it, this thing called Our Solution constantly has to be subtracted from something to generate Profit.
Not quite. If we can convince your CEO that you have a problem, when you actually have none, then:
Our Solution = Profit
And THAT is 50% of why Buzzwords exists...

12 issue miniseries...
But now with N. Portman it's going to be a 12 tissue movie...

Yeah, and most canadians can't find their home state on a Map!
:)
It's a disgrace!
It's all here: http://home.comcast.net/~wwwstephen/americans/
CBC has great shows
Well, I know it doesn't even come close, but there's a annual Ice Hotel around Quebec City...

I second that. You can have Smart Run a script when things fails, like Mailing the details of the failiure and then turning off the computer.
s k(s)_with_smartmontools
For other computer parts lsensor might do the trick.
For exemple: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Monitor_your_hard_di
if it's an external device, the best thing would be to get a controlable UPS And turn off (again with a small script)
Just think RAID, UPS, smart monitors and deamons and with a bit of imagination, you can come up with a soultion.

Yes it can.
I UM-0.9.0-GPL-fr.iso
I UM-0.9.0-GPL-en.iso
I UM-0.9.0-COMMUNITY-fr.iso
I UM-0.9.0-COMMUNITY-en.iso
I UM-0.9.0-COMMUNITY_FULL-fr.iso
I UM-0.9.0-COMMUNITY_FULL-en.iso
But there seems to be 3 version of the ISO... (6 if you count the fact that each come in En and Fr)
As far as I can tell, these are the edition (I can read french but the info is a bit spread across the site):
GPL Edition (Which uses ClamAV)
Fr: ftp://telechargement.antesis.org/download/CHRONOM
En: ftp://telechargement.antesis.org/download/CHRONOM
Community Edition (using F-prot)
Fr: ftp://telechargement.antesis.org/download/CHRONOM
En: ftp://telechargement.antesis.org/download/CHRONOM
Community Edition With NTFS drivers (using F-prot)
Fr: ftp://telechargement.antesis.org/download/CHRONOM
En: ftp://telechargement.antesis.org/download/CHRONOM
The lastest defintions for F-Prot have to be downloaded from: http://www.f-prot.com/download/
(but they can be stored in a USB key)
Voilà!
Hope it clarify things a bit...

But I did found something less.. less.. hum.. more...
Well, see it for yourselves... http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=node/view/7588
Sorry to break the news for you, but you have been paying thoses Levy since at least the 80s (starting with cassettes and VCR)...

I can already see the battlefield of the future:

We could call it "No Behind Left Behind."
I can already see the porn industry jumping on that title...
