    Did you read my post? I said exactly that. This kid is not looking at a sentence that is greater then Mitnicks. The only trouble he is even going to get in is with his school suspending or expelling him.

    Why are companies always trying to push this shit on to the consumer? People need to learn if you don't like DRM then don't buy products that use them. This includes MP3 players, online music stores, DVDs, CDs, and Tvs. Other then DVDs I have been religious about boycotting anything that uses DRM. If more people did this then consumers will have more rights in the end. Just using their new formats only encourages companies to abuse their consumers more and more.

    I don't know about more trouble. Mitnick was in prison for five years and spent a great deal of time in solitary confinement. According to the article this kid isn't even facing any jail time but he will likely be expelled from school.

    That is why you run windows update so that the Remote Procedural Call can be properly patched. I know Microsoft ussually takes forever to publish updates but the patch for this was released before the Blaster worm was released.

    Open Office is free and you don't get anything good for free therefore if something costs more such as Windows or Office it must be better.

    I live in Michigan and the Winters here can get fairly cold. Does anyone know if there is any type of heated keyboard/mouse out there. I have searched relentlesly but haven't been able to find an actual heated keyboard/mouse.

    In order to do this you need an LCD controller for your computer which can be very expensive. It is around $ 400 dollars. You also need to do a lot of sodering and need to be proficient with a multimeter. In other words there is no easy or cheap way to take the LCD screen from a laptop and use it for your desktop computer.

    3M already has something that does just this. It is called HFE-7100 and you can get it for about $220 dollars per gallon.
