yes, I have one of the older jazz lv+ cases.
it did not cost me a thousand dollars to get one either. prices are in yen, but its easy to just convert on yahoo and get it shipped. they are expensive, but not exorbitantly more than some cases sold here in the USA
CC has always taken care of me w/ extended warranties. I will not buy a single piece of car audio w/o it. (well, maybe not interior speakers) but w/ subs, cd decks, amps, and so on, their extended warranties are great. You blow a sub of your own doing, they give you a new one. you blow an amp, they send it in to service and fix it for free, if not they give you a new one or credit. your deck goes bad or stops reading cds as decks frequently do, they send it in or give you a new one/credit.
There are some items of course where its dumb as hell to get the city advantage, but then there are others where you'd be dumb not to get it.
Its become a disposeable society unfortunately, and shit tends to break a lot more quickly than it used to.
the mx system is great for improving sound at low volumes. it really does help, if you want some decent sound w/o having to blare your ears out. Unfortunately, once you do really turn it up, it really only causes your music to distort.
I love alpine, and pretty much won't buy anything but. great radios. my 9811 is a machine.
I have been watching enterprise as I could downloading eps when I missed em on tv. But alien nazis back in time? W T F? I literally groaned in disgust when I saw it at the end of the finale. what could they possibly have been thinking?
why would we be forced into a corner? you sir, are a jackass. I may not feel that *every* piece of software ever used in or on top of a linux system or its kernel needs to have open source, but that certainly doesnt make me an idiot.
Intel has a right to keep their trade secrets if they feel the need. But, like I said, they ended up releasing their previously proprietary e100/1000 code, so I would imagine they will do the same with these other drivers, even if its not right away.
granted, yes, they should have released linux drivers from the get go, but then this is what the freaking article is all about, that they have seen the error of their ways.
if you want a permanent solution, that still looks good ( the roady is kind of ugly imho) try the xm commander. It is a complete package w/ antenna, tuner/modulator and the screen is nicer than the roady imho.
I work for one of the CC, BB, etc type companies, and we sold out of both a few days ago. Most either dont know either, or come in asking for XM. But, serius has an advantage as its wayyyyy cheaper as an initial investment, and less of a hassle, because their mobile kits have the built in transmitters, and XM has lost a LOT of sales to that exact issue.
I personally would go with XM, but if sirius wasnt 12.99 I would give it a hard think. The fact that you can buy sirius' subscription out right for 399 right now lifetime, tends to draw in most of the wealthy and intelligent buyers. You can't do that with XM, which is another reason they have lost some sales to sirius.
All in all, I like XM's hardware better, but sirius has been smarter on a few design choices, that in the end are hurting XM. We finally got a replacement cigarette adapter that has a builtin FM transmitter for XM products, but that was literally yesterday, and of course it was freaking 35 bucks for the thing, so its still not much of coup.
Then you might as well ask why the machines in the matrix didnt just go to another planet or the moon to gather solar energy, or hell, even create some dirigibles/platforms to go above the cloud cover to harness the power of the sun???
Every one of them was a flying robot... they certainly had the resources to do so... then they could live without humans after the fact, or hell, even live in conjunction

and now they are in the kernels, and pretty much edged out the eepro100 drivers for intel nics.
So, even if they are originally released as proprietary, who cares, I bet the source will sooner or later be released.
