    Presumed innocence only works in criminal court and they are trying very hard to keep these cases in the the 'civil' arena.

    So the plaintiff doesn't have to pony up the cash to do it, and can now accuse at will, without any regard to potential returns. However, keeping it in civil court keeps the accused at a disadvantage as they have to effectively prove their innocence, at their expense.

    Buying laws is fun.

    I disagree, in reality the supreme court holds more power, since they can pick and choose what cases/issues they take.

    I agree the founders never meant for it to be that way however.

    Of course i realize he could be guilty regardless of how 'good' his cause it, and if so should be locked up forever. The problem is the circumstances and timing here lead one to think its a smear campaign, especially since no charges are being filed for this particular incident.

    have we bought a central processing unit which has now become our property because we paid for it, or are we simply buying a "license" to use Intel's "intellectual property"?

    It has always been that way. You bought the silicon, but you purchased a perpetual license to use the code in it. But this new proposal is just plain scam. The bad thing is the masses will fall for it and they will make billions.

    What is next, if you don't pony up more after a particular time all the cores turn off? "Demo/Trial" CPUs?

    Buying a chip that is underrated to pass QA is far different then selling you something with the intentional plan to charge you later to fully utilize what you bought. One is saving the scrap, the other is a scam.
