...if you let your phone dictate what news you see..
Google Now, for example, appears to treat everything on the internet as equally reliable and even if you allow it to "learn" based your phone use, you end up in a dystopian news bubble based on searches and clicks made for other reasons than the continuing and intense interest Google's AI seems to assume you have.
Or maybe they could just stop double dipping. The cable is already run to my house and I already pay a substantial amount for internet access. Why insist on charging me more just to watch commercials? Charge extra for a set top box if you like but don't require it.
Not that I, personally, will ever go back to watching commercials..... But it seems like it would help retain some cable customers, esp. sports fans.
I've been running my company on MSE/FEP/Defender for the past 6 years with zero headaches caused by the anti-virus software itself and an infection rate of maybe 5 or 6 per year across 200 PC and laptops. Users have local admin rights. Perimeter IDS catches some things that get through.
It seems to work better than any other anti-virus I've used and I hate them all. It's certainly the least annoying.
... that they release this about two weeks after I'd given up and ported my GV # away. I had put up with years of MMS/SMS frustration. They must have changed their default SMS app three or four times. All my contacts had two #s for me despite me trying to do everything I possibly could to prevent that. Porting to T-mobile was such a nightmare experience (5 days, 3 hours on the phone, 2 visits to store (avoid the stores)) that I'm hesitant to port it back.
Guess I'll just get a new GV # and see if it is really going to be worth it. Can't say I really trust Google not to fuck it up (or change it often enough to be irritating) again.
I just cancelled my 99 cent subscription to WaPo over this. It's all Trump, all the time, everywhere you look. The fucking election was over a year ago.
A 60" flat screen from 10 feet away is not that small.. and they are relatively cheap. I've got a 100" projection screen in the basement that only runs 720p but still looks pretty damn good. The popcorn is way cheaper.
I rarely go to the theater any more and when I do I tend to go empty ones.... matinees or movies that have been out for a while. When I saw The BFG in 3D a few weeks ago we were the only people in the theater. As for 3D filling up theaters, IMO, 3D is quickly forgotten after the first 10 minutes. Its fun but it's not required.
No. No. No.
It's a good sequel. Better than anyone could have asked for.
This is the closest thing I've found to the old slashdot: https://news.ycombinator.com/
Let's keep it that way.

Ken Burns is good but THIS is the best documentary ever made.

"..."will probably replace 50% of human jobs, create a huge amount of wealth for mankind and wipe out poverty,"
How is this supposed to happen as opposed to "Create a huge amount of wealth for a tiny minority and increase poverty."?
Serious question.
This is why you don't own a space ship company.
Speak for yourself.
IMO, anyway.
Seriously. There's more content than ever. We could use a culling mechanism, IMO, but piracy doesn't seem to be it.
Now let's talk about the damaging effects of making sharing a crime.

" Is it time for the Electoral College to reflect the popular vote?"
Way past time.
"It is a well known fact that reality has a liberal bias."

"otherwise you are providing everyone with water, just some of the water is not drinkable.""
I don't see how that was a spoiler....
The Talos Principle is a Portal-like puzzle game in which you try to break out of a computer simulation... or at least break it.
It has one of the most gratifying video game endings ever, IMO.
That's how they will make up the difference.
Verizon AND Comcast?
There really is a hell.
Still waiting on Android 6 for my Remix Mini. Why did I buy that again?
Also, I run Hyper-v. Remix OS Player wants me to disable it. How about you release a VHD?
Or can we all agree the the federal government should ensure that the entire population has safe drinking water?
From the looks of that chart, it seems I need to buy a filter or bottled water now. Not fucking happy about that.
Who do you email then?
Why aren't they? Has this been tested in court?
