Thus, asking how to make science popular I feel is the wrong question. The correct question is how to teach people it's value.
I believe that Science (like many other things) has been hi-jacked by politics. And since it's a given that people hate discussing politics they now hate discussing science too. The only way to make it popular again is to get politicians to stop hoarding it. Science should be for scientists and academia... politicians should get their dirty little fingers out of it.
... to maintain a website with more sub-domains and more information. It seems obvious to me that the Microsoft site in general is just gi-normous... therefore they have trouble epsecially with consistency. Apple just doesn't have as many things on their sites, and rightfully so considering Microsoft is a global giant, therefore the Apple employees have more time to sit around and play with the look and feel and user friendliness of a website. imho
... I say hire them on a 90 day probational period... if you don't like them then fire them and try try again. I think that works across all industries. You get to see them at work, you get familiar with their attitudes and working habits, and you always have a scapegoat that if you just don't like them, you can fire them.
... is to just use your damn bicycle. Why pay $5,000 for that thing? Why pay money for a segway? Buy a bike for a couple hundred bucks or cheaper. It's better for the environment and costs less. I don't see the need for this fancy motor scooter crap.
While lawyers and social scientists work on structural changes to help ensure privacy in participatory sensing, many of the initial and critically important steps toward privacy protection will be up to application developers. By innovating to put participants first, we can create systems that respect individuals' needs to control sensitive data. We can also augment people's ability to make sense of such granular data, and engage participants in making decisions about that data over the long term. Through attention to such principles, developers will help to ensure that 4 billion little brothers are not watching us. Instead, participatory sensing can have a future of secure, willing, and engaged participation.
Since when is it up to the application developer to determine what they're going to develop?
The new functionality was presented in a talk at OSCON 2009. Be warned, [Jesse] has a very high geeky-hacker level. Make sure you have a tech dictionary and Google at the ready when you watch the video embedded after the break. His talk starts at about two minute in and runs for five minutes total.

... what they call it? Deceptive? sure... but users are going to notice the speed immediately when they start surfing the net or downloading items. If Major ISPs lump it all together and call it broadband... the online community will give it new names... like "Crappy Broadband" and "Good Broadband"

i still don't think it's practical... from nearly every aspect. and in general it just sounds like another government bureaucracy that will be bloated and increase our taxes. to be honest, i'm surprised president obama hasn't already proposed this in america. but maybe he needs to gain control of the internet first, and then he will regulate it.

It turns out that the protection is far less than what is provided in OS X and the feature may not provide any protection at all.
the iphone in general contains far less than what is provided in OS X so this doesn't come as a surprise to me.
now, whether or not iphone 3.1 phishing protection is a big oversite on apple's part is another discussion and a worthy one at that
