I agree, it's ridiculous but not surprising (sorry I won't go off on how much I loathe universities) that they use SSNs as IDs. My girlfriend's university displays her SSN right on her ID card (attends SFSU, which displaying SSNs is illegal in California, but don't ask me how they get away with it) and my dad told me that Arizona puts your SSN right on your Driver's License. How idiotic is that?
"Welcome to Verizon, how may we provide you with outstanding service today?"
Everytime I hear that, I cringe. If you think being a Verizon customer is bad, try being a CLEC...
you: "I need to get xxx-xxx-xxxx forwarded" Verizon rep: "No, MLT shows it's not out of service." you: "Mam, your tech went out there and found exposed wire, dial tone is intermittant." Verizon rep: "Sorry, MLT shows that it is fine." you: *stabs self with a pencil*
I always say, "Do you mind holding on for a sec?" and just put them on mute. If I'm actually going to make them suffer with our crappy music I'll ask them if they don't mind me putting them on hold.
WRONG! Steve Jobs has already thought ahead! Pressing control-click will act as a click in Windows, while in Linux it will be command-click, in BSD it will be ctrl-alt-click, and OS/2 it will be control-alt-command-click, and DOS will be control-alt-command-shift-~-click (will require use of nose.)
Thank you for having a sane mentality. Consumers should not be beta testers, beta testers should be beta testers. Sony is definitely a "mixed bag" when it comes to making reliable products.
Yea, I created a website dedicated to it (www.disreaderror.org) it seems the older PS2's suffered a high failure rate, unfortunately their warranty only lasts 90-days, but there are other ways around it.
I'm glad someone else caught this, RUF is not imaginary. Much like Saleen and Rouche are to Mustangs, Alpina and Dinan are to BMWs, so forth and so on.
I don't buy this argument, most spam nowadays attempts to break through bayesian filter so they come out with random messages, sometimes with no links.
I don't believe that it takes a lot of electricity. After I had my server running in my house, my summer bill "jumped" from $15.00 to $16.00. I think the monitor is the biggest electricity hog (and since mine was a Linux server, I didn't have one.)
So I'm not the only one that uses Win2k Server for desktop usage? For some reason I experience less program crashes in Server than Professional, I guess there is something different between the two version (or I'm just a dumbass.)
Work in progress?

You forgot Nokia...damn good DSLAMs!

I did a comparison of my electricity bill and leaving my old Athlon 1GHz on all the time increased the bill only $1.50 more. Not too shabby.
Umm I think it was time to sell about a year ago :P

Have you ever considered applying as a reporter for Fox News?
FAIR AND BALANCED!!!111
Agreed, Belkin is a shoddy company.
I think people realize that going 100mph for an extended amount of miles is not really gas efficient.

Well, Canada isn't a Theocracy...yet.
Wow! You have the same root password as me!

Wait a minute, I thought you were trying to argue that sports cars are safer?
I believe the Telecommunications Act was brought by Congress and killed by Congress.

Great reply to parent. Couldn't have said it better (or as good) myself :)
I'm glad someone brought it up. Who really cares if your car redlines at 9000rpm if there's no power after 5000rpm?
