Hmm.. I think gaming addiction is covered by our healthcare. Now this would help confirm it.
But we got screwed anyway: >>The choice was Universal Health Care or Cheap Games. Canada obviously made the wrong choice, so next time you're visiting the doctor, remember, you could have had cheap games instead. --deadend, Evil Avatar forums.
So the Ethernet MAC address 00:0a:95:f5:24:6e results in 20a:95ff:fef5:246e
Is this a typo? Can anyone explain the 2 in front? I don't think this is the first time I've seen this.. maybe the other course I followed had the same error?
Why does Baltar still have Caprica(cylon) in his head? Shes right there!!!!
Because the Caprica he has in his head is actually an Angel sent by the One True God to tip the balance, and also a figment of his imagination at the same time. He is a very frakked up chosen one.
Vista is to XP what ME was to 98... A polished version.
Windows XP's codename is Whistler. Vienna's codename was Blackcomb. Vista's codename: Longhorn. (from the wiki) Whistler Blackcomb is a ski resort located in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. It comprises a village with several large hotels, eateries and bars, condominiums, and vacation homes. The project codename for Windows XP was Whistler, where design retreats were held. The next version of Microsoft Windows is Windows Vista, which was codenamed Longhorn after the Longhorn Saloon, a popular après bar at base of the mountains. The successor to Windows Server 2003 was codenamed Blackcomb but changed to Vienna in January 2006.
It looks like the production is shown in both 480i and 1080i...
Battlestar Galactica is an American science fiction television series created by Ronald D. Moore that first aired on October 18, 2004 in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Sky One (in HD), and January 14, 2005 in North America on the Sci Fi Channel. Repeats of episodes have been shown in the United States on NBC, Bravo and in high definition on Universal HD.
Sci-fi channel is in SD. Sky One in HD.. I don't know if the current season is shown at the same time or later on one channel.
Japanese game show - the goal: To make it through a tongue twister without screwing up. The penalty: A swift wack to the groin with the slap-o-matic 2000.
Apparently you haven't heard of the Personalized Homepage...I don't know why anyone would do that (on myspace either for that matter), but theoretically, one can.
1) make it your homepage. http://www.google.ca/ig?hl=en 2) add an RSS feed to your gmail. 3) add RSS/Atom feeds from whatever sites you check often. put them at the top. 4) add a classic game. anything. 5) add a "sticky notes" applet 6) add RSS/Atom feeds from sites that do not get updated often. put them at the bottom.
Voila. Simple welcome page with stuff YOU want to see. Nothing force fed to you. No ads. Privacy? sure. Google now knows what sites I check out each day.
This is the kind of research I was aiming for when I started my b.sc in physics. Never had the cash to finish my master's, and although I was studying in Canda, my average and my GRE were both too low to get an opportunity to do a doc in the states.
I want to help. I want to learn more. I'm sure I have skills that can be used in that kind of research.
The only interesting career path I see right now is Project Manager, and it's scaring me. GET ME OUT OF HERE! (.. and I'll know in around two weeks if I can do contract work. My wife's probably got her permanency at the Government, but I just want to be sure we're not both working on contract)
As far as I can see, the money is in the shipping.
Companies like UPS and probably others can "markup" your shipping cost. So even if you see the UPS invoice, which will show what the send wants to see as "shipping cost", the real cost could be lower and the sender will get his cut at the end of the month/quarter/year.
Actually, Starchoice doesn't black out the american channels. We get the right feed.
What the CRTC does is ALLOW the distributer some "channel substitution" during similar programs. When they say similar, they mean 90%+ content similar. It's a "right", not a law or an obligation.
Superbowl Ads, Harry Potter "interstitial interviews", and I'm pretty sure many others, have all been replaced by the Canadian channel having the program. What I hate the most is when there's a channel substitution and they "forget" to switch it back to regular programming. Having to watch 10 minutes of "La Telenovela - Betty la Bruta" instead of the first 10 of "24" just because Seinfeld happened to play at both station in the previous timeslot was really crappy. The only thing you can do about stuff like that is report it to the CRTC. I did. Received an apology letter a few months after. Not much changed.
None of that crap on Starchoice, and I'm pretty sure other canadian distributors. Vote with your money, I guess.. So that's two things.
Pffft! Metric system!
The King had it right all along...
C = 1'/ns
the speed of light = 0.983571056 feet per nanosecond
I'm sure we can come up with something similar for pounds and fahrenheit eventually.

"Science is to computer science as hydrodynamics is to plumbing"

I'm really confused as to what is "computer science".
But as far as I can see, computers are tools. No more, no less.
I've been looking for the Réso map for a while just because it makes me think of a metroid or some other game's map.
A 9so.PDF0 1956,-73.563766&spn=0.028996,0.058365
With a missile silo on 1250 Rene Levesque (IBM), the ice gun on McGill univ, and a boss on Phillips Square.
The maps around montreal are have the areas a bit rounder, a bit more "videogame-like". Still.. Nice map.
http://www.voyagezfute.ca/download/document/r%C3%
The map covers from Atwater to St-Hubert on this map, to give an idea of the distance covered.
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&om=1&z=14&ll=45.5
(about five kilometers wide.. westmount square to st-hubert street)
Never mind.. found it.
20A is is 1000001010
flip the first bit, gives 0000001010, which is 00:0A
Is this a typo? Can anyone explain the 2 in front?

XKCD drew a map of the IPv4 address space.
I think there were a few errors before.. they might have been corrected.
He's selling them in Poster form now.
The caption:
"For the IPv6 map just imagine the XP default desktop picture."

I wonder for how much did the coconuts go for?
Because the Caprica he has in his head is actually an Angel sent by the One True God to tip the balance, and also a figment of his imagination at the same time. He is a very frakked up chosen one.
Not exactly.

Obviously, you've never hear of Sky One. They have an HD channel and have even been showing BSG's premiere a few months before Sci-Fi.

Best 80 hours of gaming in my life.
I would still be fishing if I wasn't forced to give the Wii to my brother. I hope he's taking good care of it.
So basically you're fracking a toaster?
Or Canada.
Now everyone's burgers taste like dry crap instead of just crap.
Are you fucking serious? We're not talking about "weird customs" here.

Seriously.. Comedy gold.
Get ULTRAMON and adjust the monitor position and resolutions. It should do the trick.
Thanks for the tip for FF. At work I usually just connect to the client's network on my second monitor.
Which country will be the next cheap target?
China.
There are currently great opportunities within IBM for those who speak mandarin.

What could go wrong?
Snakes.
It's all perfect for gaming, except for the "no games for it" part.
By the way, wireless controllers are the norm now.
Avarice isn't too bad a theory, but I have trouble believing that the RIAA/MPAA could be so dumb.
I don't.
