Yes, it's condescending as hell, and that's exactly the attitude I expect from someone with no accomplishments of her own, who nevertheless is convinced that she's entitled to tell other people what to do.
First, I don't think it was his own idea, he was just describing it to me, and second, the US government is the last place I'd go with any promising technology.
What I don't get is why they only went for six hours of storage capacity? A few years ago, a friend of mine described an idea to me for a salt tank system that would take days to come up to working temperature, and days to cool off. You'd just add heat whenever you could, and draw power whenever you needed it. His estimate was that the power would end up costing 3 to 4 cents per KwH.
Stroustrup always intended it to be a research language, so any mistake or misfeature that people could think of was stuck in with no thought to the accumulation of needless complexity.
Hey, thanks for the heads-up, because I don't want to work for you. I CAN jump through hoops, but I'm a couple of decades past the days when I was WILLING to do so.
Maybe that way the Nobel prize committee could undo some of the damage to the prize's reputation that they caused by giving it to shitheads like Arafat and Obama.
The Court has already ruled on this, see Gonzales vs. Raich
Exactly. The court has failed to uphold our civil rights, and instead claimed that our very lives are subject to government usurpation.
Nobody gets to say that they are wrong.
Where in the world did you get such a bizarre, royalist notion into your head? The constitution never granted the court the last word on its own interpretation. Marshall pulled that out of his ass.

The chairs need rearranging.

it is not exactly a well-designed language
Stroustrup always intended it to be a research language, so any mistake or misfeature that people could think of was stuck in with no thought to the accumulation of needless complexity.
It's not "designed", it's accreted.

Google for the Oracle California DMV disaster.

Doesn't matter. It's a government job, and everyone involved makes more money if it's a ten-year debacle than if it actually works.

Hands down, the most important idea in programming. See the C++ disaster for proof.

With that kind of money at stake, I predict that a replacement for Silk Road will be operating out of Russia within the week.

Because Israel doesn't want peace, ...and that's why they signed peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, right?
Blow it out your ass, Adolph.

Go find out why heroin use is down in Portugal over the last decade.

I hate to inject logic ..and that's why you didn't! Good for you.

If you're "terrified" of not getting to live on other people's earnings, then fuck you.

Andrew Napolitano explains very clearly why the FISA "court" is an unconstitutional institution, and not a court of law at all.
Even if the FISA court was a legal forum, no court in this country has the authority to override the 4th amendment.

Sure, the federal courts would side with the federal usurpers. That reinforces my point that nullification is the way to limit federal power-grabs.
