LSB + apt-get should be mandatory to be able to call anything a Linux distribution.
What about a distro with no package management? Are they going to be forced to install an unused apt-get? What about gentoo? I prefer portage to apt. What about when I want to write a better package manager tomorrow? It can't get it's foot in the door because apt is standardised. What about...
I hear this a lot, that you should never under any circumstances run telnetd. If it's firewalled off so it's only accessible inside a trusted network (my network at home) is there any security issue (eg if an attacker gets into one machine could they use telnet to exploit another)
The winamp3 video component is a front end to WMP. Since the clause was already present in previous versions of the EULA, you would have to agree to it in order to install WMP and thus use winamp for video. Unless it came preinstalled? Is there a licence on first run of WMP?
Give gentoo a try. You tell it what processor you have and it compiles and optimises every piece of software you install (including glibc, gcc, linux) for your processor.
This, and some other advantages of compiling from source, make this distro much faster than any other I've tried.
The install process is definitely not for the inexperienced, so your point about precompiled distros still applies, but once it is installed, it is very easy to administrate, and one of the first to get new security packages (I woke up after OpenSSH 3.4 was released and typed 'emerge rsync openssh' and it was installed).
Sorry to come across as yet another offtopic smug evangelising gentoo user... I guess I am:P</rant>

They have cellphone coverage at the top of a mountain?
Yup. Just due to the sheer height you have line of sight and it can work over a long distance.
Buy a walmart lindows box. Not only do you get a play with lindows, but you don't pay the MS tax on the box. When you're feeling confident, get yourself a copy of (let me be frank) a real linux. Mandrake or Lycoris would be a good bet.
I'm sure we've all heard how great it is, everyone gets their own office with a window, and put whatever they want to in it; not to mention everything else on their campus. I'm sure that works to their advantage. Just having your own office + window probably boosts productivity enough to be worth it.
And they're pissed off about cubicles etc in other companies - no more free marketing for them:)
Yeah, what kind of fool would support other people's rights?
It will be SO buggy and error prone that all those Windows users will conclude that would feel right at home on linux.

I would make a witty comment, but the challenge has gone.

If they released dreamweaver MX for linux, I would never have to boot Win2k again.
Pedantry for the day.
Yeah, I think this is stretching the word 'south' too.
A robot may not harm humanity, or, through inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.
No. The violent movement might dislodge the water or acrylic polymer.
Instead of using our working technology to get into space, lets use a metal disk and try to get into space!
I can only _assume_ that was the point, but they are engineers...
