How can you assert this? The free market is just that free to do as it pleases. Right now the RIAA/MPAA are using their money to make the market less free; attempting to force hardware providers to include hardware that the customer do not want/need, increasing the copyright time far past anyone should reasonably expect to profit from a single work, and those are just two. The free market it reacting to this. The RIAA/MPAA have been investing more resources into stifling development than producing quality content. The consumer realizes that there is no reason to pay anyone for the crap that is currently out there if those making it are using that money to limit their own rights. Now this may be giving the average consumer far too much credit but in the end it is true. The market didn't like the solution provided by the RIAA/MPAA so it found another method. Who are you to say what is "supposed" to be?

I am still unclear if this means that you can CREATE PDFs with these data structures in them. Basically what it sounds like to me is that Adobe lets you use PDF which is basically a container but NOT some of the objects that can be defined within a PDF. Am I wrong on this as well?
As I understand it PDF is NOT an Open Format, in that it is not documented by Adobe, it has been reverse engineered by various groups. I believe this is the reason that you cannot create PDFs with the same "look and feel" that Adobe products can: because not all is known about the standard.

Well while this may not be the cure that we hope for it will certainly be needed once that cure is found. If we are able to cure type I diabetes we will still have to do these type of transplants to allow the cured to function normally since all their insulin producing cells had been destroyed before they were cured. Genetic therapy would only cure the cause for the diabetes this will cure the side effects.

If we did we would still have certain citizen of our country not be able to vote and not being considered a whole person.

The problem is that there becomes a point at which the things that are being done infringe on other's rights or knowledge is being so limited that people are not aware of their "human rights." The latter is the case in China. While there are a few Westernized areas that tourists are somewhat free to travel in, the majority of the population of China do not live in these regions and are not even allowed to move to them. China is attempting to limit these people's knowledge of the world around them so they can be exploited. If one does not know any different then slavery can appear to be reasonable.
If the parents are upset over this they should just microwave their child's identity card everytime they get one. The child can continue wearing the card but it won't do anything.
