The whole point of this long blabfest is that now is the time for a browser other than IE to emerge. MS has stated no further IE6 development will continue. No new features, no new standards compliance fixes, no nothing. Don't try to convince end-users about Mozilla's standards compliance. they don't care. Give them real reasons to switch, and they will.
What genius figured this out?

"We need a way to boost our profits now that everyone is dropping our worthless service and getting cable and DSL. Hmmm... I know! We'll sell music! Now that Napster is gone, we don't have to worry about piracy anymore. Wait 'till our stockholders hear this! This is almost as great as my idea for AOL Airlines."
That's a fair statement. The same applies with Star Trek. I mean take a look at some of those episodes. Giant space ameobas? Earth history on another planet? Feh. The reason you loved it was because for its time, it was special. Christ, in the 80s, everything was watered down and kiddie. This stuff was groundbreaking. Today, adult-themed anime is on TV with curses for christsakes.

The problem is that people who are in their 30s and younger know of the Democratic and Republican parties you describe. However, older people were raised in a much different time when being a Democrat was equated with civil rights and freedom. I'm not saying the Republicans are saints, but compare their record vs. the Dems over the last 10 years and see how many of your rights were abridged due to the elephant or the jackass.
If a Fortune 500 company is using Linux and SCO prevails, you don't think that's going to prompt the PHBs to dictate a change in OS? Yeah, the geeks in the trenches don't care, but tell that to the company's law department.
BTW, yeah, yeah; If SCO wins, there will be an appeal. However, the damage is already done. What business is going to wait and rely on a higher court overturning the ruling?
I would lean more towards wishful thinking than blind speculation
They're all strawman arguments made by a biased observer. So no, it's not blind speculation. It's just plain misleading. BTW, does the person who created this list have a law degree? I'm just curious how s/he comes to the conclusion that the few number of days between the time that SCO found the problem and pulled their Linux distrbution equates with SCO gifting the allegedly stolen code under the GPL.
I guess when you are used to being the only bully on the block, and have thus come to enjoy forcing people to pay your extremely high prices (since there isn't anywhere else to go), then you would react in such a non-sensical way to sudden competition.
I can't tell...are you talking about Apple or Adobe?
Beat ya. Had a 486DX 66 with a ReelMagic (yes, it was spelt that way back then) MPEG1 card. Could stream video from a 2X CD ROM drive. Only a handful of games made for it though. Dragon's Lair, Return to Zork, The Horde, and one or two others.
Oh I'm sorry. I should have explicitly added "and other terrorist activities." I didn't mention flying 747s into large building killing hundreds of people, because I just assumed you were intelligent enough to figure that out for yourself. My mistake.
There are no clear cut ways to make "good relationships" with certain countries. All you will ever do is piss them off no matter what actions you take. BTW, the USA doesn't care to make enemies unless said countries begin to obtain the ability to make nukes. I just wish our leaders could have come out and said that instead of exaggerating claims about WMDs to justify an invasion.
"Have you ever used Word?" "No, but I've used Writer, Abiword, Islandwrite, and Emacs." Shows you've got flexibility, and that you've done something more than use yer grandmothers computer."
Try that on an interview for anything other than being a programmer in a Linux shop and see how far that gets you.
The underwater sealab is going to be completed in 2021. Based on what I've seen on TV, you wouldn't want to live there.

How do you bluff a computer?
Yeah, until SCO then turns on Linux users.

This is a fluff piece on robots by IBM to sell their wireless networking solutions. Nothing to see here folks.

First Java post. Totally useless.
No it wouldn't. Because as technology evolves, new issues would arise.
"Your honor, my client's images were thumbnails were within the 10% of original size metric as stated in the precedent."
"Yes, but you did so by using a different compression algorithm."
"So what?"
and so on...

Come on. This is not a time for partisan politics. It is a time for unity.

Don't worry; when Arnold takes control of California, things will go more smoothly.

I wasn't joking.
I remember reading that Mark Hamil was talked about for playing Indiana's long lost evil brother. Any truth to it?
I'd rather use Cygwin and have it work properly.
You are going down the wrong path. Don't go in the escape pod. Go through the garbage chute.
Time for a FP to kick off the weekend!
