I think that this is the first on topic post in this thread. I can second ZM. The parent's stated issues with ZM were likely related to config/hardware issues rather than the software itself. Lastly, I would recommend the cameras with IR because unless you like your entire place brightly lit most IR-less cameras will not take very good pictures in the dark.

Because the government has given them billions to build out infrastructure. Therefore infrastructure is definitely NOT private property. The government merely grant them rights to operate and profit from the infrastructure that they were paid to build. If they want to use this argument, I either want my tax dollars back, or tell them to build their own infrastructure and give the taxpayer paid stuff back.

I have a very old SCSI scanner. The generic half implemented PCI SCSI card that came with it doesn't work under linux, can't find the drivers for it for Windows >=XP. The SCSI card that I finally did have working for it gave up the ghost a few years back. My solution, I got a $100 Brother MFP40 scanner and laser printer/copier in one. Works great. Another bennie is that I'm no longer on the Lexmark inkjet "Hey you've only used it 3 times, but it's been 6 months your cartridge is expired buy a new one." treadmill.

Creative non-violence works pretty well comparitively. You'll notice a distinct lack of Russians running Poland, and I don't recall any cannon-fire bringing down the Berlin Wall, and then there's that whole liberation of India thing, which was as badly managed as could be imagined, yet still came off not too badly comparatively because the principles on the side of liberation deliberately chose creative non-violence as their primary means of effecting change.

Gaza was/is under an officially annouced blockade. Last time I checked, trying to run a blockade will get your ass shot. The Israelis offered to let the ships dock at one of their ports, be inspected and let the goods through. However, the *aid* convoy was loaded with provacaters and blatantly told the Israelis to F off.

The Israelis armed their commandos with *paintball* guns as their primary weapons with pistols as backup. As the commandos roped down, the provacaters assaulted them.

At that point, I think that the Israelis were well within their rights to defend themselves and preserve the blockade.
