Funny thing is, 2 of the 3 parties who forced this election still haven't paid off the last one. The only party who can afford an election is the Conservatives. I am unsure of the Block's money situation though. Even funnier is that only the Block will remain about the same as for seats one. According to polls (if you actually believe them) the NDP and Liberals are going to have their collective asses handed to them after they have been severely kicked first.
As for the UBB and CRTC, isn't it great that a government actually listened to the people it is supposed to take care of? I think Industry Minister Clement actually told the CRTC to change its ruling on UBB or it would be changed for them. Most of the federal bodies and their "leaders" are leftovers from the Martin/Chretien days, who were not exactly the cleanest leaders ever.

Downloading an ISO and knowing how to burn an ISO rather than copying the file across like they do usually when writing CDs (if they've ever even written one before) would be too much for some users.
Really? I don't think it would be that hard to read the accompanying readme.txt describing how to burn an.iso. They may be Windows users, but they aren't completely stupid...

Well first off every Canadian knows that there is no way we are going to irradiate our beer. And for sure there is no way in H E double hockey sticks that we are going to irradiate it and then strap it onto a rocket and shoot it out of the country. Sure it may be faster, but do all applets work properly? For the life of me, I cannot get the applets from Pogo.com to work under ubuntu (fresh install of 8.10 with restricted extras). Xp and Vista work great.

I just got a 1 terabyte WD MyBook World Edition 2 from Costco for 390 canadian. And it seems to work well. Of course I had to upgrade my router to gigabit to get decent network access. It also is software hackable(http://martin.hinner.info/mybook/) and user servicible. One of the problems I have is that it doesn't spin down the drives after inactivity. I didn't use the supplied software. I also had a Netgear SC101. It is nicknamed the toaster, not only for its looks, but the heat too. It did spin down, but you needed to install the Zetera drivers to access it. It wasn't really a nas, but a SAN. It is now collecting dust...
10-15 years!!! But I need to eat now!!! Actually we are still using assembly in the really small PICs, cause we are too cheap to by the c compiler for it...
