  1. Guess what? on US Intensifies Fight Against Child Pornography · · Score: 1
I'm not sure what his country is - or what country you live in - but it applies to the United States:

Prison sentences for rape are not uniform. A study made by the U.S. Department of Justice of prison releases in 1992, involving about 80 percent of the prison population, found that the average sentence for convicted rapists was 9.8 years, while the actual time served was 5.4 years. This follows the typical pattern for violent crimes in the US, where those convicted typically serve no more than half of their sentence [14]. Between 2002 and 2003, more than one in ten convicted rapists in Australia served a wholly suspended sentence, and the average total effective sentence for rape was seven years [15].

/jk, though that's one of the things that bugged me about Morrowind... amazing 3D graphics, beautiful environment, open-ended gameplay, but NPCs as dumb as rocks - when over a decade ago they were baking bread, going to the tavern, closing windows, sleeping, etc. in Ultima VII.

I'm not sure exactly what you would want in a PDA - you talk about web browsing, but I'd consider anything less than 640x480 on a legible screen to be painful to use. One of those little video players (maybe Archos?) would probably be more suitable for music and audio. Personally, I find having hundreds of megs of drug and medical references in my pocket (as well as a few good novels) to be very useful.

Oh, and for transferring files: I'm not sure why hotsync is so slow, but simply taking out the memory card and copying the files onto it directly is a lot quicker. (If your PDA doesn't have any memory card slot, well, you bought the wrong one.)
