  1. Excellent on Worms Jack Up the Total Cost of Windows · · Score: 1

If the cost keeps going up everytime a worm appears, this will push windows to an unaffordable price. At that point, it'll become a no brainer for IT folks to just deploy linux hopefully. Cost of windows nowadays is just ludicrous.

  2. Sega is so much better on Sony Cans Most 989 Sports Titles For 2004 · · Score: 1

I don't know if anyone goes on a rental spree before buying like me. But without a shadow of a doubt, Sega sports games are superior compared to EA.

Don't get me wrong EA would eat 989 studios alive. But with the exception of really really deep franchise statistics, sega espn basketball, football and hockey was so much more advanced than EA sports games IMHO.

People are actually mocking PSP with the failures of N-Gage. That's like saying Sega Saturn failed for a 32-bit console, so will playstation.

PSP WILL cause several hundred dollars. But don't forget gameboy, black and white handheld, debuted at $100 if I am correct. There were a cazillion debates over its pricing at the time, cause a colored system like SNES sold for $70 by then.

  8. Math and CS are different things on Math And The Computer Science Major · · Score: 1

I came from the same CS/MIS disipline, and honestly math and CS do NOT go hand in hand.

For some reason people think CS needs calculus and differential equations and a whole lot more to get by. Listen to me.... you use calculus to find the derivitives of a curve. If you're a CS major you don't need freaking calculus, your typical windows box can solve it for you. And if you can't figure how to calculate numbers with a computer, you shouldn't even be a CS in the first place. Go ahead gimme the -5 troll for being upfront and honest with my 4 year experience.

  11. Re:The bleak but true near future of videogames on Electronic Arts - Resistance Is Futile? · · Score: 1

It's sad but true. The worst part about sequels is that they DON'T necessarily get better. Remember back in the NES days, mario 2 was better than 1. Link was better than Zelda.

Nowadays, sequels are actually debatable with their predecessors. Not to mention online games (especially EA online games) are useless without 10 patches out of the box.

People have got to let go of the law a bit.

We are at a crossroad where technology growth is far superior to the pace lawyers and court cases are used to it. Our constitution, though flexible, can't possibly deal with every new tech version and innovation.

I wouldn't wave comcast goodbye since it actually provides pretty good service. Original mediaone is still the best IMHO.

  14. Already questionable on Super MP3 Will Feature User Tracking · · Score: 2, Interesting

Ok, you have a typical 5MB mp3 song.

For a song to become a super mp3, tracking P2P users and multi channel sound.... wouldn't this be naturally much bigger than 5MB? If so wouldn't it be easy for the P2P user to just recognize that and avoid downloading it right away.

Not to mention this is probably going to create a new P2P feature to flag an mp3 as "super" or "regular" before downloading.

Years ago the pilgrims lifestyle were restricted by law in a thousand ways. Years from now, people will realize laws against piracy is completely useless.

I am not saying developers should not be paid. I am just saying if the government really want anti-piracy initative, they would have to force M$ to create an OS where games literally run off centralized servers on a $$ basis.
