Money is being made by the private citizen, completely independent of the government and they don't like it one bit. Squash indepenence and bash the US in one blow, what could be better!?
China hasn't been an officaly communist country since Mao died, the current leadership is not anti-capitalist at all.
Can't let facts get in the way of a good screed though, no sir.
Current eletronics arn't harmed by water unless they are powered. Also, some eletronic boards are washed with de-ionized water after being put together (spesificaly, Intel motherboards are).
We call Taiwan the "Republic of China" (ROC), because, of course, the true government of the middle kingdom resides there. Someday the Guomindang will return to power and Chang Kaisheck will leave his temporary grave and be buried next to Sun Yet San as the Communist rebels are defeated!
(btw, no American would be bothered by the term "republic of california" or whatever because just calling california a seperate country wouldn't make it so)
Portman will probably just be stuck in as a 'ghost' at the end of ep4: return of the jedi, along with Aninken, Obiwan, and Yoda. Its probably not going to be a big deal.
Otoh... puttting Jar jar in ANH? That just seems like a slap in the face...
I wouldn't really call this 'joining', Taiwan is comming up with their own incompatable (I would assume) standard from china.
Which is not very supprizing, but pretty silly given the fact that they speak the same language and the PRCs format is royalty free (or is it just royalty free for companies inside china?)
At least star wars didn't have the oft repeated line "with great power comes great responsibility":) But Star Wars did have a laughable love story...so I guess they're about even.
Keep in mind the first time that phrase was ever uttered was in a spider-man comic. And how is it worse then any of the idiotic cliches in SW? "He's not taking the hint?". Or just plain idiocy "I'm beside myself!"
Overall, the only argument i've seen in favor of the Star Wars/Campbell relationship is that they both deal with "the eternal struggle between good and evil". Name two movies that DON'T deal with that struggle...
Well, let's see, how about rushmore and, uhm. Debby Does Dallas?
I don't think that's totaly true. There is a huge use for voice use in smaller machines like phones, and in 'non-computer' things like cars or homes when you might just want to change a setting that dosn't need a information display to show you the change, for example if you say "turn of the lights" you don't need a message box that say "lights: 40%"
I once opened up the front pannel to see if I could fix a power problem (I couldn't charge it back up after I sent it electricity with the wrong polarity in a botched attempt to use a car adaptor... I couldn't fix the problem)
Anyway, the layout was pretty straight forwared on the sr33k I have. One little wire for the touchpad, and the RAM and hard drive were right there for you to remove/replace.
When I the ethenet card for my laptop, the drivers came on a floppy disk. Sure I could get drivers off the 'net, but not without the eth card.
A friend of mine happened to have a Sony digital camera that let you mount it as a drive on a PC. We copied the stuff over to the cam, and then used the stick to install drivers. Pretty convoluted but it worked...

English is one of the most complex languages in common usage. Chinese, on the other hand is actualy pretty simple.
Much, insert, fuck. How hard is that?
Being able to recognize other people talent, and more, to aknowledge other people superiority, is a sign of talent.
Um, right. Either that or listening skills, anyway. Everyone knows how good Kurosawa was. The fact that lucas knows dosn't make ep1 and 2 any better.

about the firebomb thing, it's illegal to incite violence.
The upshot is that if such measures really are built in, the general-purpose computer may not have long to live.
How the fuck is that an 'upshot'!?
Actualy they allowed a back door to allow anyone to take over the quake server but not the actual machine.
It's more like a suped up amateur rocketry club.
They did some editing after 9/11 (The origional climax was in the WTC plaza...) but the movie was basicaly completed before the attacks.

So, my choices are: pay $50 or whatever for redhat and get a $10 rebate, effectively paying $40, or.
Download redhat or buy it for media cost on cheapbytes, effectively paying $0.
Somehow I doubt this 'rebate' is going to sway many people...
It's never made a diffrence that I've known, and I've been doing web stuff since '97
try this link. It might just be a stylesheet issue.

He's not talking about people using Linux... (besides, if you're going to run linux why would you get an iBook? 500mhz g3? Um, yeh...)

I could touch type on a ti-92, so I'm sure I could handle this thing.
I'm british, so it's not a big deal.
(ok, not really. But I prefer my asian chicks nice and americanized anyway)
