I'm well aware of how it could work. The iLUG crew is poor, there is only one ISP, and bandwidth is expensive. Now, once again, why is this a good idea at this time?

  6. Re:Sadly Enough on Microsoft Extends Win98/SE Support · · Score: 2, Informative

You'd be wrong there, from support costs alone. Since we implemented XP at the site where I work (we are currently at ~95% implementation), the number of calls to the helpdesk is down to about half what it was when we were running primarily 9x. Patches also install much more reliably using automated mechanisms. Just figuring increased productivity due to less time on the phone with tech support and spontaneous reboots is probably reason enough to migrate.
XP is also an OS which is securable. 9x is not. Where I work this is a big issue, since we get audited twice a year.
The license for XP may be more, but with upward of 10k users we have a volume license which gets renewed every couple of years anyway, and the CALs for desktop machines all cost the same for us.

There's not much that will need to get cut, rither. I can't think of any nudity that will need to be painted over. I'm pretty positive neither Meryl or Milly ever take a trip to the public baths. There's some drinking, but I'm pretty sure CN lets that slide.

How about overprocessed ham? It's too smooth, it doesn't feel meaty. It even tastes just like regular ham, but it doesn't feel like it, and I don't enjoy it nearly as much.

Incidentally, the US government requires triple-overwrite on any computers leaving government facilities, and for anything sensitive they wipe it, then drill holes through the disk. Yes, I know this for a fact. I have done IT work for a government site.

Ok, back on topic. I find usually that the best way to find new bands is to go to websites of bands I like and find out what bands they listen to or are playing with.
