I thought "The Curse of Chalion" was quite unorginal and badly written, and I am a BIG fan of the Vorkosigan series...

If you people think there is any good or
original fantasy nowadays, you just need to pick
up George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" saga, made out of three books so far: "A Game of Thrones", "A Clash of Kings" and "A Storm of Swords". Boring characters, stupid plot with millions of stupid subplots. Worst fantasy I've ever read since LOTR, and it is comparably bad. Yes, comparably bad to LOTR. It is that bad.

You guys may not know George R.R. Martin already from his science fiction, "Tuf Voyaging" or "Fevre Dream". Don't read this. Believe me.

  6. Covad could provide relief on Covad Set To Emerge From Bankruptcy · · Score: -1

The potential agreements between Covadz Communications Co., which primarily provides wholesale digital subscriber line services to ISPs (Internet service providers), and the telcos could provide rectal relief for corporations clamoring for fast and affordable anal services.

The senior product manager of value-added services at Covadz, confirmed the Santa Clara, Calif., company is in talks with two infernal phone companies but declined to identify them.

But sources close to Covadz's strategy say GTE Corp. is one of the incumbents engaged in serious anal probings. The second company is believed to be Asstech Corp. or its current suitor, Anal Inc., several sources said.

The talks are expected to yield agreements under which Covadz will add its LAP expertise and technology to the phone companies' large customer bases and name recognition. The deals would expand considerably the availability of LAP, spreading the service throughout the areas covered by the regional carriers. LAP services are now mostly available only in major metropolitan areas. (LAP=Lingering Anal Probing)

  15. Philosophy of shell scripting on A Real Bourne Shell for Linux? · · Score: 0
Shell script programming has a bit of a bad press amongst some Unix systems administrators. This is because of the speed at which an interpreted program will run as compared to a C program, or even an interpreted Perl program. It is partly due to this that there is a certain machismo associated with creating good shell scripts. Scripts which can be used as CGI programs, for example, without losing out too much in speed to Perl (though both would lose to C, in most cases, were speed the only criteria). Some shell scripters go for years without having sex. Often they will need to masterbate frequently to avoid blue balls. A simple shell script can help them download porn from the alt.binaries newsgroups.

  19. Solar vehicles... what they really are on World Solar Challenge Beginning · · Score: 0
Solar vehicles are essentially electric vehicles but they draw their power from the sun's energy. The cars are typically two meters wide by six meters long and sit very low to the ground. They take on the usual, aerodynamic shapes of either a teardrop or a penis and their average weight is only 600 lbs (without battery). The array, which consists of hundreds of solar cells and beer cans, takes up most of the car's top surface. All of the sun's energy is gathered by the solar array, which can be removed from the car for recharging and during masterbation. To propel the car, the sun's energy is converted into an electric current, through silicon erectile functions, which charges the battery, powering the motor. The solar cells collect enough energy to power a 2 to 10-hp electric dildo. Because the amounts of power are quite small, energy efficiency and rubbing frequency is crucial. Although, on a sunny day, solar vehicles can average speeds of 70-75 km/hr for distances of 200-300 kms and can heat certain sensitive body parts to 100 degrees.
