What a stupid comment. Do you really think a "normal" encyclopedia can't be wrong? At least with Wikipedia, articles are constantly checked and updated. I suppose the five year old encyclopedia on your bookshelf has more accurate info on, say, Iraq, huh? Also, Wikipedia articles have their references listed, so it's easy to verify the info.
Yes, Wikipedia is "do-it-yourself". And it's damn good. It ranks, IMHO, as one of the best general knowledge sources out there.
All your comment did was to present well known facts in an overly dramatic and inflammatory manner. You, sir, are a troll.
Interestingly, you have pocket lint at the start of Larry 1 as well...

The same could be said for drugs. What you pay for your coke doesn't just go to the dealer. There are millions of workers living off of the money. Distributors, poor Coca farmers, the average dealer on the street, cartel bosses, etc... etc... etc...
So why is manufacturing and selling drugs illegal, if there is so much money to be made and a lot of people could live off it? The answer is simple: because drugs are detrimental to a society.
The same goes for monopolies, media cartels, price fixing and copyright laws that unfairly favor big corporations.
The problem in a lot of South American countries is that drug cartels are hugely profitable, and they just buy off the governments, so no real action will be taken against them.
A similar thing is happening in the US regarding media corporations.
Everyone is trying to force this down our throats. Buying and actually owning things is frowned upon. Everything is becoming a "service". This means "they" stay in control. The good thing for the companies is that this generates a steady stream of revenue - they don't have to make as much of an effort creating a better and cheaper product, once you have the "service", they try to make it hard for you to switch to a competitor.
Thirty years from now, you won't own anything anymore. Evertyhing will be "services" and "subscriptions". Welcome to the new age of feudalism.
Modular cabling is nice, but it can also be another point of failure.
No shit. You get twice the contact resistance, and that could be significant considering the humongous currents that are flowing in today's PCs.
Here's a personal story: around '97 or so, I had trouble with my PC. Unexplained crashes, lock-ups, etc. It was a pretty decked out system. Pentium 233 MMX, 128 megs of EDO RAM, 3 SCSI hard drives, a CD-ROM, a CD-R drive, a heavily overclocked Voodoo 1, SCSI controller, two sound cards, etc. All PCI and ISA slots were occupied. Anyway, when I started having these crashes, I opened up my PC, looked around a bit, and soon I noticed that the AT power connector was half melted. I unplugged it and noticed that the connector was hot as hell, and that the plastic around the 5V contacts had been charred from the heat. Apparently, there was some contamination (dust, finger oil or whatever) on the connector that caused an increased contact resistance, which in turn produced enough heat to melt the plastic and obviously produced enough of a voltage drop to crash the PC.
I cleaned the contacts with some contact spray, and it ran fine after that.
Those lines are also part of the lyrics to "The Thing That Should Not Be" on one of the greatest albums of all time.

Great link, how about this one? Face it, Nazi Germany was a Christian society just like fascist Spain or Italy (strangely, fascism rose to power in predominantly Catholic countries).
Also, what's with the bullshit line about "my research"? Do you really think I care about this stuff any more than about any other random internet discussion? You make it sound like it was my job or something. And you're too busy? How come you're reading Slashdot at all then?

Hitler was a Catholic. Also, on every German soldier's belt buckle, there was the inscription "Gott mit uns", arranged prominently around an eagle gripping a swastika.
Hint: Frank Zappa - In France
I think you're confusing it with Der Stern.

Ever seen a Futurama episode?
What does Star Wars have to do with science fiction?
What, did she call her a Chinese Jap-American half breed bitch?
Your post should have ended right there.

No.
That was actually Charles Martel (martel meaning hammer in French), Charlemagnes grandfather.

Rectally.
I think I saw that one ... I believe the subtitle was "Ejaculating at Escape Velocity".
Dunno, but I think you'll see a sharp rise in street muggings by desperate geeks ...
Well, duh. That's probably because it frickin is. What do you want, a PC that looks like a pot plant? A rhubarb-shaped car?
In the bathroom.
That is cool. Maybe then some day we won't need soldiers to carry out tedious tasks like these.
So what? Fuckin AWP campers ...
