  1. Unnecessary on Should Apple Open Source the iPhone? · · Score: 1

Apple doesn't need to Open Source the iPhone. What they need to do is make it available to multiple carriers (something most think will happen eventually anyway) and ease up on the app restrictions. Let's face it, everyone wants an iPhone. They may not all have one or even get one but they WANT one.

I'd heard the figure at about 70%. The genital figure is about 20%. We like to make jokes about genital herpes but the truth is it is symptomatically the same as oral. The only difference is that the HSV2 virus prefers the genital area. Keep in mind, however, that some people have HSV1 (oral) on their genitals and visa-versa. We stigmatize genital herpes as an STD and oral herpes as a "cold sore" to make it more palatable (pardon the pun) but the truth is those with herpes outnumber those without.

Some research shows that the virus may help combat other viruses.

It really takes a side-by-side for me. When HD first came out I'd goto Best Buy and frankly spent more time trying to deduce if there was enough difference to warrant $2k - $3k for an HD TV. I determined the difference simply didn't compel me. It still doesn't but as prices drop I'll be more likely to get an HD TV. I don't watch much TV and I certainly could care less if the chick getting banged in my pr0n has a mole on her vulva or not. Hell, I'm only in for 3 minutes then I'm taking asleep!

Actually, no. I've said nothing about Muslims or Communists. Interesting that you'd make such a leap, thus dismissing me outright. The fact of the matter is there is some bias in the way the image was presented. What would appear to be youths coming together in protest is in fact an orchestrated protest. It's misleading. You don't have to believe it and you can explain it away. My comments have been restricted to the photo and the bias and I've said nothing about Muslims or communists. But hey I must be a right-wing kook because I'm not embracing it? Bias, racism, and dishonesty is wrong no matter who's doing it. Black, white, conservative, liberal.

Our old IBM server wouldn't boot because he had answered Yes to overwriting the proprietary SCSI driver with Microsoft's "newer" driver. (Newer is better, no!?) I think the Anonymous Coward is painting with a broad brush, his points aren't totally without merit (well, except his odd plea to encourage racist voting). Obama did, in fact, benefit from a large black turnout and a large chunk of those votes were cast based on the fact that this was a historic moment for blacks. As such, they were cast based on race and therefore racist. No doubt there were a number of whites who voted to prevent a black president. While blacks usually vote Democrat they don't usually do so in the percentages we're seeing now. John McCain cannot lay the blame at the feet of racists, of course not. Had he run a more solid campaign he would have done better. But the idea that anti-white racism and pro-black racism played little or no role is simply naive. Even Obama promised to deliver the black vote not because he felt they would rally around his policies per se' but because he is black and on a major ticket. Thus, differentiating himself from past black candidates who had very little chance of winning the nomination.

Like most agendas like this these things sound great on paper (who can argue with "serving" your country?) but there's a creepiness to it as well not to mention ominous possibilities. What happens if one wishes to exercise the freedom to abstain? Shouldn't such a freedom exist in a "free" society?
