M$ hiring OSS developers and now more solicitation? Sounds like M$ is trying to "embrace and extend" only by acquiring the community developers. The money has got to be a huge lure.
First, this is just funny. Anything that inconveniences a Kennedy can't be all bad. Esp. Teddy!
Second, I wonder how much this was done on purpose. Something smells here. Let's see, a Kennedy could probably easily get his name on such a list to pull a stunt to jab the Bush Administration.
Again, this isn't so much a lax in g'ment as just a funny thing that isn't without some usefulness.
So would an Iranian version of Windows have the U.S. labelled as "The Great Satan?" This could actually get very funny. They could market regional versions even here in the U.S. Like label California as "The People's Republic of California" and market it to everyone who doesn't live in New York or California. Label Massachusetts as "Where the Kennedy's come from" for public school children. This could actually be fun.
Free speech only applie to liberals. Moveon.org runs ads about W's military record where even the liberal media has found no wrong yet when the Swiftboat Vets. recount eyewitness testimony Moveon wants their free-speech stifled. W didn't lie, he just moved on intelligence that was later found to be questionable. (And that has since been said to be credible and that the Brits stood by all along, I might ad!). Yet Kerry, according to solid evidence reported in the press and from eyewitness testimony, has out-and-out lied about his service and people still will vote for him. That, my friends, is stupidity.
Trojan: "Dude! I owned an iPAQ! Emailed to the user, he opened me up and BAM! I had root access to this...uh...little....uh...bitty....room.....ahemm..."
I don't think someone who gives the impression he'd rather be a M$ developer than a *NIX developer should be considered a "leader" in the community. I won't deny that he's done some good for the community. Yet, I don't consider MONO one of them. I think it opens the door to possible problems down the road with M$. I feel the best way to approach the war with M$ is to open standards. Not concede that M$ has created them already and conform to them if for no other reason than to avoid litigation.
"Well, we've managed to get the probe on the asteroid. This 1.2billion dollar mining probe has worked flawlessly. After 6 months of drilling some 300meters into the surface of the asteroid we can finally report that the asteriod core is made up of the same rock that it's crust is made of. Thank you."
Exactly. Seeing as how it didn't revolutionize travel for all of us, which it was touted to do. I remember when it was finally revealed. The hype leading up was so exagerated, "Whatever it is, it will change the way we travel!" Then this scooter appeared...technologically advanced, for sure, but basically a scooter.
Why does Linux have to come up with something "new" because M$ is? Since 96% of the users out there are unfamiliar with Linux, couldn't we just say "Hey! We have this new filesystem called..." and put any type in there?:)
Yeah. We have the "user-install" version of IE. 65MB! I'm sorry, but if you write a browser that's 65MB you're evil. Imagine the crap that's bound to be in that!!
I've been using Firefox. I can't possibly imagine why I'd want Netscape. I wonder what the percentage of users on Firefox/Mozilla vs. Netscape would be? I guess I just don't understand why they don't just move to the Mozilla name completely.

flamebait? I must confess to a tad.
You realize the WHO is a joke, right? I mean, you don't really take them seriously do you? THAT is the difference between the West and EU.

Okay, the EU. Hmm...and this from a correspondent there: Here!
Maybe they're just "Vive La Loafing" as here.
Let's see, you read this, you get like 1-2 months off every year, then you piss-and-moan about Americans being more successful.

This may be the first Olympics where there are more security personel and athletes than spectators.
Uh...XP Server? And we'er nuts?
So when does Miguel de Icaza start?
If they would outshine the sun, we wouldn't need SETI to find them! :)
On the other hand, often Sys Admins have to wait for vendor clearance to patch some servers, leaving them potentially vulnerable.
Any "upgrade" that doesn't take about, I dunno, 45MB out of the app is no progress in my opinion. A 65MB web browser (IE6) is just wrong!

Ah yes...those family jaunts to the outer rim would be great! Wife: "Great! I knew if I fell asleep we'd wind up in the middle of nowhere!"

We've rounded up 150 of the COOLEST Linux devices from all over the far east! (And...uh..the 1 or 2 available in the U.S.)
