I get a signal from the WAAS birds all the time with my Garmin 60C. Heck, I can even pull a signal down indoors sometimes. With my 76S, I never once got a WAAS signal. I guess newer gps's are getting better at recieving...
Uh, No. SA has been turned off since the Clinton administration and hasn't been turned back on. Ten feet or so is the best accuracy you're going to get without using differential gps.
They also have a patent on one click, and Apple has uses that in iTunes and in their online store. Jobs and Bezos are tight, so I'm sure Apple will just licence this too.
DirectTivo's and stand alone tivo's get their program guide from different places. (Tribune for the stand alone, and from DirecTV for the DirectTivo's)
Read the book 'Behind Deep Blue'. Computer chess tournaments are done all the time. The strengh of a chess computer is determined exactly how the strengh of a human player is determined - by their play in tournaments.
I've seen this too. What kills the speed even more than Season Passes, though, is wishlists. A few keyword wishlists really slows down the system when it's trying to reorder the priority of season passes. The newest versions of Tivo have faster processors in them, so maybe that will help some.
This would stop casual crackers, but not determined ones. It's not hard to sniff the MAC of a computer on the wireless network and then spoof your own MAC. Not that I have ever done something like that:)
Tivo has stopped hacking in the past. Any hack that gets lets you use outside channel data is stopped by Tivo. Also, I believe they tried to stop a hack that allowed you to extract the mpeg video from a tivo.
Other than those examples though, Tivo has been extremely tolerant of hacks.
Cable companies pay TNT/TBS for the right to broadcast their signal. All 'cable' channels work this way. I'm not sure about network broadcasters (ABC/CBS/NBC) though.
What the heck is a post card? All google returns is postcards (the kind that need stamps).

Most newer PC motherboards can boot from usb...
Have you been able to get Combat Mission to work under OS X? I haven't had any luck...

How about them not lying to us for starters?
And I was looking forward to geocaching this weekend!

You can find the miniseries under "Frank Herbert's Children of Dune". I took me a while to find it because I was looking under "Dune" or "Children".
I've used something like this, and it works well. Brewing beer really isn't that hard to do...

Just because some retailers are using spam it doesn't mean the product or its manufacturer are evil.
Metric to imperial conversion problems on slashdot? Maybe we should give lessions to NASA.

I urge everyone who is upset about this to send a fax to Sci-Fi Network. I found the this link to a free online fax service from the parent article.
Free Online Fax
Sci-Fi's fax number is +1-212-413-6531.
The article was a joke and you missed it. Are you happy now? :)
I can't seem to get a google toolbar on Crazy Browser. This Browser looks nice, but you can't expect a man to live without the google toolbar!
Well if this is the Otto from the Tivo community board, I'm going to shut up now :)

Read the post again-
"entering your passphrase via a video game style selection process to combat hardware keystroke loggers"
That sounds like the coolest feature to me.
