type in *#8999*8378# press 2 (H/W test) press 2 (Audio Settings) press 3 (Melody Gain) clear the "6" that you see on the screen, and then change that to 0...then press save 6 times or until you get mack to the audio settings screen close the phone flip open and change keytone to highest then to the lowest (side key) go to camera and take a photo no sound!
the phone i'm currently using (Samsung E700) seems to have the compulsory noise when taking a picture, luckily though you can turn it off using the service menu, which can be reached through typing a code in.
please note that i did not do this so that i can take some upskirt photos or anything, however tempting that might be, but simply because that infernal noise irritates the shit out of me.
the age old argument that if you can play a piece of multimedia then it can be recorded using a microphone, unless they are outlawed by these new DMCAalikes, which, to be honest, wouldn't surprise me in the least, after all they can be used as 'Circumvention Devices' or whatever
i hate to state the obvious, but this could be good for open source, that is having a big name such as the BBC behind it, it should also mean that linux (and other non MS OSs) could be able to use anything the bbc develop/publish with it, cross platform content on demand anyone?)
my solution was to order lots of free stuff from the microsoft technet service (order a lot to make sure you get big envelopes) cut up said large padded envelopes and line your pc case, it's ugly but it works
surely it may be possible to borrow receipts from someone in the UK who already has purchased the same laptop, of course this only applies if you are shopping for a specific model and know you can get it, also that the receipt does not detail anything specific to the original laptop, e.g serial number.

Also microsoft are complaining but i thought i heard somewhere they are puttting pop-up blocking in the new IE, some slight irony/hypocrasy/i cant think of the word
surely by sharing them at all they are giving people the right to download them, as they know that the purpose of sharing a file is to upload it to others, otherwise they wouldn't share right, or am i completely missing the point
if you have sky+ (the recording one) then yo can get dolby 5.1 from the optical out on the back of the unit, but only if you have the equipment to connect it to, and only for certain broadcasts (IIRC most of the films)
