Captain Corporate:I'm sorry, I'm sorry, that's *completely* wrong! I *own* 33% of the web and 95% of 'RL' media! You can't link to my sites with wanton abandon!
The main problem with this is when something breaks, it's expensive to replace.
I need a logic board for my 9600. To purchase one from a 'reputable' dealer (ie, not ebay) between 175 and 250USD. Power supply? 99-199USD.
Ok, screw it, I'll get a parts box from ePay; owwies! 120-500+ USD
For that, I could get a quad PPro server, or build a luggable out of a Shuttle barebones flexatx dealie, or get my band a used reeltoreel(or PA or some cabs), fnord!
I like the architecture. I think apple has done some great things, and some real boneheaded things.
I just wish the damn bits weren't so much.
'hmm, I can buy this DC and some games from my buddy down the street.... or get this kickass new xbox game! I hear the sky is incredible, if the sky's great the game must be *awesome*!'
Actually, I have very poor depth perception.
I have for most of my life
I can function normally, pick up things, drive, etc. The only time I have problems is when there isn't anything else to reference, shadows, change of size, etc.
That's not that big of a deal either, because I can 'feel' depth unless I'm tired. Call it intuition, The Force(tm), experiance::shrug:: I dunno
Whichever, all I know is the only actual problem I have with no depth perception is small flying objects (damn you HS gym!)
A tachometer measure revolutions per minute(rpms) you're thinking of the odometer (which is part of the spedometer 90+% of the time), which measures miliage.
I don't know about you, but I'm still bitter about the movie houses stopping the release of Laserdiscs.
I've got a couple of DVDs, but as a 'Universal' digital media, it falls real short
I wish that high-end MO disks, or DVD-RAM got as popular in the states as it is in Japan.
I work at Xtramart, it's a gas station/convinience store in New England.
I left college (umass) mostly because of depression.
It's alright for a toilet job, I don't have to do much. I get paid $9/hr at night for staying awake basically.
I'm applying at some of the local PDs for a civilian dispatch job. That is slightly more stressful, but 15-25/hr.
I can get by on 9/hr, but how am I supposed to buy toys with that?:P
I have a copy of these, and their red japanese cousin made by NEC (the pc8401, iirc).
cute little things, run about a month on double AAs, have a Billy-Born MS basic, a directory listing with fancy arrow-key navigation, w00
(the site's been slashdotted already)
If so, than that's stupid, no Sysadmin worth his salt would leave a machine without proper updates/securing.
An workstation/server is only as secure as you want it to be, that's it.
Let's degrade the already not-that-great video quality from broadcast television!
Though, I suppose it won't matter in a few years when we all have HDTV over DSL and a free DMCA Skullfucker 4000 Market-Reaving Device free in the box ::sigh::
I was attending college as an EE/CS double-major. After about a year, I went into graphics design.
Currently, I am taking some time off to pursue more "traditional" skills. Partly because I'm curious, partly because it's a bit of a rarity for 'normal people' and/or nerds like us to get into these fields
I'm taking some blacksmithing courses, and am signing up for a small-engine repair class later next month.
Mount one of these bitches on there (whee, Svideo), hack up a custom battery and you have one *hell* of a quake2 mobile rig. (Good for trash-talking bastards:) "Man, I'm the fucking best DM'er ever! My sk1llz are t3h best, rar!" 'umm, right, so, ok. Here's my box [*grunt*] Bring it'
Screw you guys with your fancy-ass video cards, poor people *tweak* baby! I had a P200(nonMMX) with a Savage4 and I got it to play UT.
I currently run a G400(guh) and I run Counterstrike in OpenGL 800x600x32 at a consistent 70fps, it spikes to 99+
So when is the shipping company getting off it's ass to bring me mine?:D
Wellll...
ok, so the movie doesn't show the device
Why isn't Spidey shooting webs from his mouth [or 'other']?

5USD says he's just afraid that the obsessed fans with the combined vastly-superior intellect/creativity sans toy-deal minds will show him up.
It doesn't matter if it's cars or computers man. ;)
It still gets me going
'hmm, I can buy this DC and some games from my buddy down the street.... or get this kickass new xbox game! I hear the sky is incredible, if the sky's great the game must be *awesome*!'
::playing Yar's Revenge::
hmmm... Make you hemipene?
;P
Have you f...errr, *hugged* a dragon today?
Especially considering you can get an incredibly sexy Libretto or Picturebook for cheap. (well, relatively cheap)

Soon, my friends
All reasons for getting a GBA will be gone
The return of classical, SNES-era, 2d RPGs is upon us.
Rejoice

Sweet Mother.
It's called a moped, they're real nice.
They're alot cheaper
If you're not a four-wheeler, at least be an *intelligent* two-wheeler.
Swarm and destroy
Segway drivers: beware the screaming 50cc, they'll know you're big on money and short on brains
It takes four 'AA's
I was heluva tired during when posting. I also said 'copy' instead of 'couple'
they *do* make a 'AAAA' btw
Well, that's silly.
It's Japanese, and bright Ferrari red
I have a copy of these, and their red japanese cousin made by NEC (the pc8401, iirc).
:P

They're tough as nails, anyway
Do they mean out-of-box?

Diversify, baby
Just use Mr. T's van
It's heluva fast
Throw me in a kitfox and jack me in
Ready to rock
Because it's a computer, it won't ever compute.
except for maybe 15 minutes a day.
and only let you view Rap/teenybopper/fake-R&B related websites
Oo, maybe it will be like MTV in the summer and only show me scatily-clad women... Of course my current computer does that with proficency
In the previews JB mentions Keith Moon, and that you do not need college to rock. "College is LAME!"
...Being on 'hiatus' from college pursueing smithing training, *and* being a Who fan, that is reason enough for me to want to see it.
Not to mention I should see it for the D
Hail Satan
